New Direction....New priorities....security in neighborhoods, at our ports and airports.....

A new direction means ending our dependence on foreign oil. We will begin by energizing America with biofuels that send our energy dollars to our mid-west instead of the middle east. We intend to achieve energy indepence within 10 years

...dignified retirement for all Americans....renew pledge on SocSec.

expanding economic justice, min wage: It's been frozen at $5.15 an hour despite 9 years of rising health care and energy cost and inflation. That is immoral.

We'll turn away from the irresponsible deficit spending by President Bush and the Republican Congress that has added 3 trillion dollars in new debt. We will restore the proven budget discipline that eliminated deficits and generated record economic growth....

....cost of war in lives and dollars. Americans know, and Democrats agree, we must change the course....It is time for a new direction in Iraq. At the earliest practicable time the US *must* begin the responsible redeployment of its troops....

Democrats are united in presenting a new direction for America. One that will make our nation as strong as its people. One that brings opportunity, security and prosperity for all Americans.

1. Listening now, thanks for posting.
I am tired of all the attacks on our Democratic leaders. There are attacks here and from strategists who think they are not being made important enough anymore. It is pretty constant, and it is tiring.

:hi:

It sounds very positive to me.

6. I can't believe what an excellent leader she is. Can you imagine...
trying to get an entire Democratic caucus to agree about ANYTHING? They'd have almost 200 different word suggestions.

She's amazing. The words she used are fine with me.

8. Me, too. -Not that she wouldn't run rings around Junior
But her skill at shepherding the dizzying array of dem opinions in the house makes her too valuable there. And the honor of being the first woman to hold that position is a significant one. That this might happen in the same year that a Democratic woman signed a ban on abortion is mind boggling.
