RFK says reaction to his article has been huge
RFK was interviewed by PR Week about his Rolling Stone article. Here's an excerpt. Cross-posted at dKos.

http://www.prweek.com/us/news/open/free/blogs/564483

PRWeek: Why do you think this wasn't covered heavily by major media directly after the election?
Kennedy: I think the mainstream media took up the Republican echo chamber, and just echoed the right-wing talking points.

PRWeek: Why didn't the Democrats themselves pursue this?
Kennedy: Well, there was a lot of complaining; there were a lot of lawsuits. But it got very little traction in the media. But you know, the Democrats on this issue have been abysmal as well.

PRWeek: Your story wasn't based on any secret information, correct?
Kennedy: No, that's the whole thing. This was not a secret conspiracy. This was done openly and shamelessly. Across Ohio, there were people who did everything they could to stop this.

PRWeek: Have you had any indication that the national media will take another look at this issue?
Kennedy: I had a good indication . The New York Times, as its lead editorial, did a piece on Kenneth Blackwell's current efforts to suppress registration drives in Ohio. And the Republicans are doing the same thing in Florida, and the Times talked about that, as well.

PRWeek: What reaction have you seen from the general public?
Kennedy: There's a huge reaction. Rolling Stone told me that it's gotten two and a half times as many e-mails as it's ever gotten for any other story in its history. So there's a huge appetite for this story.

3. There's a huge appetite FOR TRUTH!!
If the Dems would get on this issue:

-- they'd increase their donations by 150%

-- they'd increase their chances of getting a Dem Congress in 06 by about 1000%

-- they'd raise their polling among the people by 30-40%

-- they'd increase activism among Dems by 60-100%

-- they'd increase our chances of getting out of Iraq by 500%

-- they'd increase their chances of getting a Dem in the WH by 500%

NOTICE: These are just estimates. Actual percentages may vary by state and candidate.

24. But broach it with local party leaders and you get a blank stare
and a cold shoulder, in my neck of the woods.

4. The country HATES bush, they KNOW the elections were stolen
and they are screaming about it.

BUT - the MEDIA refuses to cover this. They are an active arm of the bush administration.

In reality, bush is probably at about an 18% approval rating, but the media is shoring him up at
every opportunity. The lies never, EVER stop.

5. The ON TV media people won't be happy
till we start booting them off OUR airwaves. I know I'm plenty tired of these people lying to my family and freinds.

8. The on air tv tots are but guppies in this.
The true place to target is ownership dictactes editorial policy which leads to producers telling the tots what to do with the moicrophones. To get the owners attention the bottom line has to become one with lost revenue and 0 profits.

then straight to the corporate offices. We already own the airwaves!

a couple of Air America hosts?

14. As an election reform activist in Ohio, I talk to a lot of folks about
this and yes they know it, but don't know what to do. I had a prominent attorney's wife (I know her daughter) who is in her upper 60's say she is fully convinced and fearful for the future. We need a leader willing to rise up and lead, since few have, we must lead. Educate your friends and neighbors-make sure they are aware of it. We must be prepared to take to the streets in '06 and be prepared to boycott.

10. Yes, the people know
This is interesting to contemplate. Despite the best efforts
of Corporate Media to distract The Masses with American Idol,
there is simmering revolution. We are somewhat paralyzed by
fear...of unemployment, martial law, etc. But we are not
effectively hypnotized and distracted by The Shtuff on the
"News" Networks. Ths more the reality we feel contrasts
with what's important to CNN, the more we feel something's wrong.

13. That's why it's going to
come down to the media having to be held accountable or nothing will ever change.

I like the way RFKjr framed it by stating "the media is the rw echo chamber"!

18. Couldn't Agree More, stopbush!
Maybe 1 out of every 20 people if not more detest Bush, his cabel, and what they have done and are doing to this country.

The only 2 I've banged into whom refuse to hear anything bad about the bushivitz' are a fundie-christian selling dollar store kits to the "street-dwellers," (that's right, they're no longer called the homeless, it's too low-class to refer to them as such, yes) and 1 elderly woman who wishes to be buried with her Republican voting card.

Everyone else detests him. All different in their own way and some you'd never guess would feel as such from shopping store lines, to passer-bys. And I live in a reported all red county. Go figure.

17. If high profile people like RFK
and others keep the focus on Ohio and Florida and other "steal me" states, maybe the Blackwell ilk will be a little more leary of trying to steal the 2006 elections. Blackwell is losing by double digits in Ohio and so is DeWine. I truly hope the likes of RFK, etc. will flash glaring lights on these races so that no shenanigans can take place

20. Things are going to get interesting.
RFK, Jr. is looking into filing a lawsuit against those responsible for the theft of the 2004 election in Ohio.

22. Oh God
I hope so. The '00 and '04 stolen elections have got no traction among the general public until RFK, jr. got into this with his Rolling Stone article. If RFK jr. leads a lawsuit against Ohio, maybe the thefts '00 and '04 election will finally get serious national and MSM attention like this R.S. article.

25. Finally read it tonight, but.....
maybe it is too early for me to say this, but I don't think it is getting near the attention it should be. Especially since it is so well done.

Maybe the Dems need to pay to have it sent to every media outlet in the country.
