Hollywood, California - Pot Resolution Approved
Today with a vote of 4 to 0 Hollywood's city council passed a resolution to leave people with small amounts of marijuana alone. The city will be ordering the Los Angeles Sheriff's department not to target and arrest adults who posses small amounts of marijuana, and if they (the deputy sheriffs) don't comply, Hollywood will drop the Sheriff's department and contract another police agency to police Hollywood..

2. Update
The next day the Los Angeles Sheriff responded by saying Hollywood will NOT be an Amsterdam and that the city council of Hollywood cannot ignore California and Federal laws. A city councilman responded by saying this resolution doesn't violate California or Federal laws and that West Hollywood will review the Sheriff's Department conduct with respect to this resolution when the Sheriff's Department contract to police Hollywood comes up for renewal.

And the funny thing that day was. At the same time the Sheriff was making that statement, his Department was violating the FAA's laws with respect to the Sheriff Department's new "unmanned surveillance drone". They disregarded the FAA and flew it in violation anyway.

*Sigh*

We'll see what happens.. I'll stay tuned..
