Bush supporters......Like enabling relatives in an abuse case.

Spend a week watching Bush supporters in Congress and you`ll swear you`re listening to testimony from enabling relatives in an abuse case. It`s like a Court TV case where a child has been chained in a cellar for five years but informed relatives refused to step up to the plate. Why air dirty laundry or rock the family`s boat? Why stir up the pot and involve authorities if things are going smoothly? The child was probably sassy anyhow.

Dennis Hastert could get caught nailing that cellar door shut, but instead of an explanation he`d host a slide show on a Bush-supporting hammer factory owner. Ken Melhman would show up on Meet the Press and swear carpenters are becoming Republicans in record numbers. Russert would ask why no Democrats showed up to do the hard nailing work. The child in the cellar would no longer be an issue. Mission Accomplished.

Don`t hold your breath waiting for a breakthrough. The discovery of dirty little administration secrets leads nowhere. Don`t count on illumination. These folks like it dark. They`re too busy gerrymandering their road to perks to have time for serious oversight. Why go through the pain of putting country ahead of party when the reverse is working so well?

So Valerie Plame gets outed and hooded men are lugged off for a few years of torture. *FLAG BURNING* So Iraq is a disaster and flood victims are still living in campers. *SING THE ANTHEM IN ENGLISH ONLY* So we`re despised around the globe and our national debt is mind-boggling. *HELP TERRI SCHIAVO WALK AGAIN* So our jobs are sent to India and much of what we use is made in China. *STOP THE GAYS` ATTACK ON MARRIAGE* So the corridors at Walter Reed are filling up and the ice shelves are melting. *INFILTRATE QUAKER MEETINGS* It`s an enabler`s paradise.
