Lieberman and.. McCain? Think they are planning it?
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but all of the Liberman BS had me think that he might be up to something with McCain for 08 - think about it from their perspective - Republicans like Lieberman - they like McCain for his foreign policy stance - and voters will get non-stop media coverage of this "two party" tickets of the two party's "renegades."

The media would latch onto this - sadly and predictably - and endless BS stories of a new era in Washington blah blah blah...

From a strategery point of view, from a media point of view, it's gold.

And if they do get together, the Democrats better have a good plan to respond (seriously).

1. I made that same observation last year when Israel started a new centrist
party deeming the right and left had become too extreme. I suspected that this was a trial run for US elections. And no doubt for me, there are center right sources who are behind it.

2. Milque toast and unsalted oatmeal
That's about how exciting the two of them are. I don't think they would go far. Lieberman's voice is so shaky. A couple of scarecrows.

11. It will be McCain for Pres. and Lieberman for VP and they will lose!
There are too many people out there who are sick of the control of the US government exerted by the neocons and PNACers and unfettered support for Israel that has cost us billions and many lives. People won't talk about it in public, but if you ask them in private they will let you know. Even some who were for Gore in 2000 were very unconfortable with Lieberman as VP. McCain has ruined it for himself with his love fest with the Bushbots who swiftboated him during his bid for Presidential candidate. He is regarded as a sell-out and a whimp for cow-towing to the Bushbots. The only thing this ticket will have going for it will be MONEY. No doubt about the fact that the Rethug supporters (corporations and capitalist elites) have most of the money that can be thrown into political campaigns.

8. I doubt it
They're both loyal to their parties -- even if they occasionally veer from party orthodoxy.

10. If McCain loses to Frist in the primaries
he'll run a Bull Moose 3rd party campaign with Joe as VP.
McCain authorized Marshall Whitmann to start the DLC/Bull Moose blog.
They are thinking ahead.
