The really sick thing about Manchaca that my cousin reminded me
Edited on Tue Jun-20-06 12:47 PM by cantstandbush
is that on any given day the immigrant haters in TX (that's where my cousing lives..in Houston) could have grabbed Manchaca and swifted him away to one of the little hate hamlets outside of Houston, hog tied him and drug him through the streets until they killed him. And here he has given his life in what he thought was defense of those same beastly people.
My heart is sick for him and those who have gone before him and those that are yet to come. My tears have no more salt.
I read the names each and every week on This Week with George Stephanopolus. I feel I owe it to the twenty or so soldiers who are killed each week to look at their names and their ages and their hometowns to recovnize them as persons.
I have noticed on that show and others where they are all listed (like Nightline) there seem to be so many names of Hispanic origin. I have often wondered if many of them aren't citizens yet still fighting for the country that really wants to send them packing back across the border.
