Every '06 Candidate Should Be Saying "Stem Cells" Over and Over
It is our best wedge issue.

It highlights how the Republican party, and hence the government itself, has been taken hostage by far rightwing crazies who are mandating bad civil law based on dangerous, superstitious nonsense.

The country OVERWHELMINGLY agrees with the Democrats on this issue, as do many "country club" non-fundamentalist Republicans.

Not only should every congressional candidate be hammering this in their stump speech, it should be an issue on every statewide ballot as a constitutional referendum or a legislative ballot initiative.

It is a huge winner for us, and it should be used everywhere to marginalize the loons on the right and to mobilize our side to get the masses out to vote.

1. National news (CBS I think)
ran a story tonight about embryonic stem cells being successfully used on spinal chord injuries in mice.
