Time again for LynneSin's "Guess who is the most unpopular senator is"
The June numbers are out for the 100 senators in DC. Can you take a guess at who is the LEAST unpopular senator this month (actually there are two tied for the worse - a crook and a dick).

If you give up - you can check here:

2. Remember that's an in-state survey
Not across the country. And Wisconsin has been known to split votes; however, I highly doubt that Feingold would ever lose an election there

8. On a side note: Wisconsin Public Radio had a straw poll today,
Feingold won with 24 votes for president in this poll. Hillary got 3, Condi Rise got 5 and Rush Limpballs even got 4 votes!! Just a call in straw poll vote, but Russ did great.

7. I think there are a few reasons why
Many of the 'moderates' are pretty astute politicians: example Ben Nelson (D?-NE). I'm not a real fan of Nelson's. However, I'm an overseas voter registered in Illinois, so Ben isn't (and shouldn't be) concerned with what I think or want -- he represents the state of Nebraska. The 'moderates' are pretty good at straddling the fence between constituents and Party. They have to be good at it in order to avoid being voted out of office by the folks back home, and at the same time avoid "p*ssing off the Party" in DC.

Another reason why they some tend to be popular (IMO) is that, quite often they fly under the radar (McCain being anexception, although I don't think he's much of a moderate). Name the last truely controversal stand that most moderate Senators have taken. I think most moderates avoid being out front on controversal issues.

A third reason (IMO) is that the media love the 'moderates.' They practically thrown rose petals at the feet of these people. So these people get lots of positive press at home and Nationally.

Fourth, they offend less people within their state. If you are aggressive and abrasive, like Boxer (who I think is a good Senator) or satantorum (who sux rocks) you will make people uncomfortable and you create a group of enemies on the other side of the political aisle, who are well financed and will work hard to defeat you.

I could be wrong in my assessment, but I don't think I'm that far off base.

9. Perhaps it's becasue most voters are moderates, and
dislike those of the extreme ends of the political spectrum.

6. DeWine, at 95, is having big, big problems
his approval ratings are tanking, and disapproval is now much higher than approval

10. Heh heh, only Santorum less popular than ol Conrad Burns
Hey, Conrad, wanna come home and 'splain to us about voting to give amnesty to Iraqi 'insurgents' while our military personnel is still there? How many will die because you stood like a good little bush-bot and chanted:
'Bring It On, oh and we forgive you for what you are about to do'?

Dumb fucker! Do you EVER think? Just follow orders? Gads, Conrad, how do you manage to put one foot in front of the other?
