America is living in fear...How do we overcome that?

You hear about people speaking of terrorism and nuclear crisis. Others saying there is no nuclear crisis and Bush* is the biggest terrorist but the bottom line is people are worried. They are worried about their personal safety in their homes and at work. They go buy guns (by the droves) to protect themselves. People are scared. That is the Democrats problem. Democrats have always been looked at as the Mother side of our nation (and I believe we are) while the Republicans have historically been thought of as the Dad. People look more to dad for protection than mom but they shouldn't. Mom has been around whenever you are ill or injured, stood up for you against dad or whoever. Mom provided security every bit as much as dad. Security in all things. We need to remind America of that. If we don't get this fear monkey off our back we are done. Security is the number one issue and not just from terror. Security in that someone will be there for you when you are sick, someone will be there to help however they can when you are financially stressed, someone to keep away the bad guys as well. Democrats have historically done that but America has forgotten. Fear causes that but we need to remind America and do everything in our power to eliminate this fear. I want every child's mother to feel that her child is safe while outside playing and that if per chance an accident were to happen and the child got hurt that mother could get immediate help without worry. We need to get rid of the fear. That is the Democrats greatest challenge, get rid of the fear, and we can't do that by taking away people's guns or even letting them think it some far fetched possibility. Gun Safety yes but laws against guns would not be smart. Make people feel they are unnecessary. Get rid of the fear. Security is our issue and Democrats can win it. People in other countries do not live in such fear, why??????

Certain Americans want fear. It would take a few generations and a different system of education to subtract paranoia out of the American psyche.

mongers start their spiel I would like to ask them just one question: Where is you faith in God? When I was small we were taught that God was a loving God and we could go to Him with any problem we had. So why are these neo-cons and *ss's crowd so afraid? Is their God dead? That, I think, is the question that was asked in the 60s. Are you afraid that God will not take care of you? Their fear mongering is proof of their lack of faith in their own God. Why would that all powerful and loving God abandon his people? They seem to think he has. They fight terrorism with sinful lies, murder and deceit and expect us to think they are acting in God's name.

The poster wanted to know how to stop the fear mongerers: attack their lack of faith in their own God.

The fearmongering doesn't actually convince a majority to vote for the Rethugs,
it convinces a majority that a majority actually did vote for them.

I was brought up in the Catholic religion and I believe that is a religion of fear. EG miss mass on Sunday - mortal sin - go to hell. I was taught by the sisters that showed no mercy and I'm sure they attended the Osama bin Laden academy of terrorism.

The current level of domestic terrorism can be easily elliminated by sending Bush a message (one that even he can understand) at the next half term elections.

Security is all incompassing, health concerns, economic concerns, police concerns, disaster relief, National Guard at home where they belong, big government invading private lives, job security (outsourcing) we have all the issues on our side but we have a definite knack for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
