8. Kerry's proposal is actually quite moderate, yet...
he is portrayed by the GOP, and by Joe Lieberman, as a "cut and run" guy. The war hero is accused of being a coward by those that avoided military service like the plague.

11. That's a great point by quickess about "cut and run"t
I also found this, along the same lines:

Cut and Run -

If a captain of a smaller ship encountered a larger enemy vessel, he might decide that discretion is the better part of valor, and so he would order the crew to cut the lashings on all the sails and run away before the wind. Other sources indicate "Cut and Run" meant to cut the anchor cable and sail off in a hurry.

34. Frankly most people with the ability
to become Senator could get far more in private enterprise. Even as a young man, Kerry gave up making a large amount of money to become a LT Governor then as Senator. The same persuasive skills he has (and had then) made him a very good lawyer. (Or without making assumptions - look at Edwards who did make a fortune and then became a $178,000 Senator.)

37. As many reasons as people
In many cases, they want to give back or they want the status and power.

I realize the answer you want is that the amount they actually can get is higher - legal or illegal.

and as member of such institution you would want to respect such institution, and continue on the same principle founded that infatuation. After all, you and your backers have invested in such institution.

17. Kerry saying there is no more back and forth debate in senate must've hit
home with Warner.

Hell, Kerry covered so much ground my head is spinning, so I wouldn't doubt that Warner was somewhat effected.

because he has sounded like he didn't hear what Kerry was saying.

"Civil war" is what Kerry is saying, and that's what we already have there.

Kerry: "We have a civil war today!"
