Karl Rove's Biggest Mistake (convinced all Repubs that Iraq is a winner)

Karl Rove's Biggest Mistake

The guru of the Republican Party, Karl Rove, fresh from skirting an indictment in the Valerie Plame case, has manically plunged back into the political game again. He is up to executing one of his oldest tricks -- using his venerable playbook of turning a weakness into a plus. Somehow he has convinced the entire Republican Party that the Iraq war is a winner in the 2006 Congressional elections, not a loser.

This I gotta see. With polling data showing for months that the American people oppose the war, Karl Rove is going to apparently single-handedly make "cut and run" into the slogan that defeats the Democrats this Fall? This is up there with his Social Security crusade that turned out to be such a great success last year. Let's hear Rove convince the parents of the two US soldiers who were tortured and killed earlier this week or the relatives of the four American soldiers slain yesterday in Iraq -- or the American public which has watched this repeated mayhem for months now -- that the Bush plan to stay indefinitely in Iraq is the answer to this forlorn, mistaken war. Sacrificing more American troops simply to uphold Bush's honor no longer computes in a conflict that now has lasted (since 9/11) longer than the American involvement in the entire second World War.

2. The only winners are the corporations profiting off of this war with
no oversight, no bid contracts.

3. I didn't take us long to figure out....
What Walrus was up to. What worries me is that we might yet again allow ourselves to become swiftboated.

4. Rove & RNC
So are we going to counter "Cut and Run" with "Stay and Pay" ? I agree with you to a degree about what Kkkarl is up to, but i also think Kkkarl will use illegal immigration.

The illegal immigration is the wedge issue that will get disgruntled repugs out to vote this coming Nov, this is just my opinion i have no special knowledge to back this claim.

But i do think we need to be ready on all fronts, the SOB is sneaky.

5. War is always a big crowd pleaser...
...to those who live outside of the reality-based community, anyway.

8. He Doesn't Have To Convince Anyone To Support the War…
…He only has to make the media say that people support the war,
and then after they steal the election, they can say the Rethugs
won because they supported the war.

14. I agree totally. Next they'll tell us huge deficits are good for us.
Because we spend too much of our money on frivilous stuff anyway, so why shouldn't the gov't?

Like that bridge to nowhere in Alaska - yet they still gave him the money!!

I couldn't believe it.
Stevens threatened to resign his seat - they should have let him!!

16. Karl Rove attacked Rep. John Murtha
during a speech last week in New Hampshire.

"Murtha defended himself this morning on Meet the Press:

MURTHA: He’s in New Hampshire. He’s making a political speech. He’s sitting in his air-conditioned office on his big, fat backside, saying stay the course. That’s not a plan. … We’ve got to change direction. You can’t sit there in the air-conditioned office and tell troops carrying 70 pounds on their backs, inside these armored vessels hit with IEDs every day, seeing their friends blown up, their buddies blown up — and he says stay the course? Easy to say that from Washington, DC."

Rove shit and fell back in it!
