San Diego County, CA - Emergency town hall meetings

We need to think up ways to get the word out about the emergency town meetings.

How about handing them out after showing of Inconvenient Truth?

Local Democracy for America groups?




Any other ideas?

You've got zillions of people stuck on the freeways, long commutes, often slow--at least an hour's drive to everywhere. So-o-o-o-o-o, even the shortest of Public Service Announcements can reach thousands, millions. And a call-in spot, say on AAR--local LA and SD affilliates--or public radio, is pure gold, as to publicity. PSA's on university radio stations also a good idea. Get students involved. I think all of the biggies have radio stations--UCLA, USC, LA and Santa Monica city colleges. And don't forget Catholic colleges/universities like Loyola-Marymount (not sure the entre there)--big pockets of progressives. Loyola has a civil rights lawyers group--legal observers/advisers. Call the law school. One other thought: Spanish language PSA's on Span lang radio. And get something out to the Young Democrats and other progressive groups on every campus.
