Whatever happened to Karen Hughes?
Where in the world is Karen Hughes? I remember all the hoopla from President Bush (of course) when he made yet another one of his wonderful decisions to appoint her as undersecretary of state for public diplomacy and public affairs in July 2005.
I recall that she came on like "gang busters," going to Saudi Arabia with some suggestion for the ladies there on the importance of being more independent. Apparently, she was not taken too seriously, and that was that.
Still, it's puzzling that we have not heard anything about any recent endeavors. Just another big salary (and a bigger title) with nothing to show for it. You're doing a heck of a job, Karen.
One thing she has done in her "down" time is write a book. It's titled "Ten Minutes from Normal." It's on the bestseller list at the Dollar Store.

 Best seller at the Dollar Store....
