If Rush needed the prescription in another person's name for
'privacy' or 'confidential' reasons - do all the Americans whose phones have been tapped or whose financial information has been foraged through get 'privacy' now too?

Why does Rush Limbaugh hate THE PATRIOT ACT?

:patriot:

Really, Rush, if you're not doing anything wrong why do you need privacy.

1. How wonderful is it that he is in the media spotlight now, when if he'd
only had the prescriptions put in his name in the first place, nobody would know?

7. Exactly!
But then his doctor and pharmacist would know that he had other 'issues' (which I'm certain they could care less about).

3. I hear he was with a group (as in "not alone") --
so maybe he was the one they had score the "party drugs" for them. After all, he's had so much experience in that area... ;-)

13. Exactly! And one must also ask, "Why was he held 3 hours?!?"
Could the fact that he was held for so long possibly mean that there may have been some other type pills in this bottle (written by a Physician FOR a Physician)?

6. I was made to feel like a criminal recently....
because I was buying cold medication off the shelf for my sick child. The clerk had to enter my social security number into a database to make sure I wasn't a crystal meth dealer. I am presumed guilty just for buying the stuff!

My freeper relatives said, if you have nothing to hide, why worry about it?

These people are so full of shit!!!!

15. With the Hippa Law
Rush shouldn't have to worry about the privacy of his medical records.

Looks more like he's doctor shopping again and found a doctor whose will to cover for him. I hope someone goes after the MD for forging perscriptions.

17. Actually it seems to be legal
<snip>

It is generally not illegal under Florida law for a physician to prescribe medication in a third party's name if all parties are aware and the doctor documents it correctly, said Mike Edmondson, a spokesman for the state attorney in Palm Beach County. He would not discuss specifics in the Limbaugh case Tuesday.

16. questions
The original reports said "prescriptions," yet all anyone is talking about today is Viagra. What were the others?

I also have an observation about his "explanation." Supposedly his doctor, in order to protect Rush's privacy, put the Viagra in his own name. Was this to save Rush the "embarassment" of his Viagra use becoming known to the public? And yet, all of those Oxycontin prescriptions were in Rush's name. Why wouldn't he be equally embarassed by that?

Also, in his original Oxy case, Rush's position was that he should not be ordered to release his medical records to the courts.

In this case, I'll bet he will be willing to release his records to prove that his explanation is true.

And why would an unmarried, "abstinence-only" kinda guy like Rush need Viagra anyway? For masturbation?

19. The thought of Rush on viagra is just too nasty to contemplate.
Do you think some poor woman is actually the recipient of that...

God! I shudder to think.
