Get Involved.....Write LTTE's.....

Everyone on this forum should be writing letters to the editors of their local papers. Offering truths to the Republican lies, and setting the record straight when it comes to Dems.

We have a responsibility to do use the obvious writing abilities that we have for the purpose of saving the country that we love, and were raised by our parents to love, from the near tyrany of those who want either a one party country or a theocracy!

And yes, you can raise your voice againsst a theocracy, as I do, and still be a Christian, which I AM! Even the Southern Baptist, of which I am one, have lost their way from their own ideals. First and foremost in the "secular" beliefs of REAL Southern Baptists, has always been staunch belief in the separation of church and state! I know it is hard to believe now, but believe me.....it is just something, that the takeover by people who actually believe that Dubya is a Christian, has caused to be lost.

I have been asked by my County Dem Party Chair to take the role of Communications Director, because he has been reading MY letters. I haven't answered yet, but I assume I will say yes....as much as my wife wishes I would just stay home....lol.

But we have to work, and fight, to get this nation back on its political, economic and moral feet again, or otherwise what has been fought for over the last 230 years, will be just a faint memory.

Not only do we need to keep the heat on them ourselves, but we have GOT to spread the word to like-minded thinkers who may not be on DU!

Give them ideas for how to write, if they want to and don't quite know how to get started!

As you have learned, it is almost ADDICTIVE when you continually see the lies and distortions the Bush Fascist Party keeps throwing at the American people.

I wrote about this jerk when he was governor, and I CONTINUE at an even more persistent rate now more than ever since he pulled off his bloodless coup.

I have made national publications a few times, and have done some guest editorials in my area.

We need MORE like YOU!!

so far four of my letters have been published.

Writing LTTE's are great way to let the papers know that people are interested in a subject. I often write to the papers in my area.

.......to counter the "right"! No such thing as a bad letter. Anything is better than NO LETTER AT ALL!!

Just make sure you research your facts enough that you can fire back if they actually have the courage to challenge you with a letter of their own!!1

at least with the papers in my area, to get the email addresses of various reporters. Praise them in an email when they deserve it. I think they respond to me better because I do this once in awhile.

As far as having the facts straight, it does help. However, I once wrote a guest editorial that was rebutted by another guest editorial. The guy lied. The facts he used to rebut me were not facts at all. I didn't do anything about it, because I had gotten such positive responses to my editorial.
