18 new young democrats!!! whooo hooooooo I taught Govt. SSchool
part of the requirements were that they register to vote

out of the ones able to register 18 registered DEM and proudly showed me their voter reg. card. 2 registered repuke strictly on the abortion issue ;(

I should add that I in NO Way influenced their decision. They to this day do not know what I vote!!!

I had them pick several issues that could affect them in the next 10 years they then had to look up the platform of both gop and Dems and figure out what each party stood for for each of the issues they deemed important. I think for most of them it was college financing, Iraq war and the possibility of them having to fight it, debt ceiling/taxes and immigration. (we are a very diverse school)

I am proud of them.

2. Congratulations!
You are certainly "giving back." If all of us could enlist one Dem voter, think how strong we could be. Of course, we then have to get them to the voting booth! lol

3. the key is finding an issue that fires them up
most of my kids WANT to go to college, but without financing, they will never be able to afford it. They are also not the top 2% in their school nor are they stand out atheletes. Pell Grants are what they need.
