2. I think we're gonna see a redux of '92, only moreso...
...remember "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves?" (That was Ferraro, Simon, B. Kerrey, J. Kerry, Harkin, Clinton, Gore, and Tsongas. (I think that was the lineup...)

Everyone's gonna be speculating about The List.

Hillary and Vilsack, ________________, ________________, ________________, ________________, __________________, and _________________.

You fill in the names. It ain't difficult.

Much chaos, much speculation, much bitter anti-everyone-who-isn't-MY-candidate rhetoric. Many attempts by Democrats to submarine other Democrats. Much cash wasted in pre-primary bloodletting. An exhausted Party and a tarnished candidate coming out on top eventually. A deep breath. A General Election campaign not nearly as effective as it could be because so many Democrats remain alienated by the squabbling and the raw deal "their" candidate got from "the Establishment" or whoever. Not to mention less funding available since so much was used up in vicious primary infighting.

Fortunately, it won't matter, because A) The GOPpies will be doing the same thing only meaner and more vicious ('cause they're meaner on a GOOD day than any Dem's ever been on their WORST day...) and B) Unless Congress really horks it up in the next 24 months or so (possible, but unlikely,) or blivet grows a brain cell or gets paralysis of the vocal cords and the rest of the GOPpies stuff him in a closet to rot and try to act like adults who are responsible for the high public offices they hold (WILDLY unlikely,) the election would go to a Democrat as long as s/he could walk, talk, chew gum, and do a good imitation of an adult.

We don't learn easy.

cynically,
Bright

4. I count ten off the top of my head.
Clinton, Vilsack, Edwards, Obama, Bayh, Gore, Dodd, Richardson, Clark, Biden...

Probably we'll see more than that.

5. Some of those people ran in '88
That was the year of the 'Seven Dwarfs.'

Seven Dwarfs: Richard Gephardt, Joe Biden, Bruce Babbitt, Jesse Jackson, Michael Dukakis, Al Gore and Paul Simon.

Biden dropped out and Gary Hart came back in briefly. (Mario Coumo waited, Bill Bradley waited, Never got into this race.)

6. John Kerry and Al Gore didn't run in 92. I wish they had.
No way would John Kerry have covered up for BushInc the way Clinton did immediately upon taking office in 93.

7. ..
8 for now. Hopefully most of them will drop out early to limit the scars going into the presidential election.
