Here is a letter I sent to Senator Patty Murray. I wonder what her reply will be?
I have been researching and writing about political issues for many years. What I see as a fundamental problem with US foreign policy is the web of lies woven into the policies we form. These lies then turn into bigger problems, as lies always do, and then more lies are told. Iraq will go down in history as the biggest foreign policy disaster of all time. It is a disaster because every justification for it was based on lies. At present the lie is we are democratizing Iraq. Senator Murray the US is building 14 permanent military bases in Iraq. Senator John Kerry cited this in a question to George Bush in the 2004 debates. In June of this year funding was renewed for those bases. Could this be the reason why the Iraqis are reacting so violently to the US presence there? I think that it is the main reason. They know they are being lied to about US intentions, which are to colonize Iraq. There are many other lies, big ones, that keep the US from resolving problems. When the facts are considered there is little doubt that both the 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections were stolen by Bush. Why can we not just acknowledge this, tell the world what the situation is and then allow Bush and his cabal to stand trial for war crimes and pay the consequences. These are just two cases. If we don't begin the process of getting the truth out we will be forever, at great material and human cost, a cost that will eventually be to high to pay, trying to cover up the lies.
