Does anyone know what the Iraq Study Group results are?
I haven't been able to catch up on the news, I don't really watch anyway because of its' right wing slant. Has it even come out yet? I was following it for a while but lost track since I become busy helping my mom remodel my sis's bathroom.

Did georgie boy have a fit?

1. There are three different pdfs
They seem to be the same text, but different font and page numbering.

2. If you missed it you can catch the stars on Sunday "Talking head" circuit
CBS' "Face the Nation" - Former Secretary of State James A. Baker III and former Rep. Lee Hamilton, D-Ind., co-chairmen of the Iraq Study Group; Sens. Carl Levin, D-Mich., and Trent Lott, R-Miss.

NBC's "Meet the Press" - Baker and Hamilton.

CNN's "Late Edition" - Baker and Hamilton; Reps. Christopher Shays, R-Conn., and Jane Harman, D-Calif.; Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, leader of the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution of Iraq; Israeli Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres.

"Fox News Sunday" - Baker and Hamilton; Sens. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., and Sam Brownback, R-Kan.; composer Marvin Hamlisch.

Maybe Georgie and Condi will be watching, too, and looking for pointers.

4. they flunked the exam :-)

Summary: let's offload all the problems on the Iraqis, ignore the idea of "victory", and get the troops out starting before the Presidential primaries in '08.

George is trying to ignore and downplay it.

The significance of the report, afaict, is not about Iraq. (Though the authors subscribe to the reality on the ground there.) It's what between the lines the report says about the politics of Iraq domestically: the Democrats and swing voters want withdrawal as soon as possible, moderate Republicans have lost hope and are just waiting for the Maliki 'government' to collapse to give up on staying in. This is not actually news in the Beltway, but this report is as clear a public statement of it as we'll get.

The news in the report is: the classical Right wing of the Republican Party has had enough of losing power inside the Beltway because of the running failure in Iraq. So it wants the bleeding to stop, and they don't inherently care about Iraq. If the (Bush) idiocy, i.e. 'stay the course', continues in Iraq, they (as represented by James Baker) have decided to walk away from his Presidency.

That leaves Bush with the safe support of only the reactionary wing of his Party, the 24% 'hardline conservatives'. But once a Presidency is stuck with only that last bloc of supporters, history suggests- see under: Richard Nixon- it is just one crime or mistake away from total collapse and resignation under threat of removal from office.

6. Wow that is pretty damning
I have told my mom during the 2004 election cycle that Bush is going to be impeached, either that or he is going to resign. She feels something else about him that I am not to say here on DU but I would say that I wouldn't be surprised. But my strongest gut feeling is he is going to be impeached. My mom keeps telling me "No, it would never happen, no President has been impeached. People have tried in the past but it never happens."

I really would like to find out.

What do you think?
