Right wingers say we can't leave Iraq because we will have trouble getting out...
Didn't these stupid people realize this when they went in, they want to stay for ten years. What makes them think that they won't have any trouble getting out in ten years. If anything it will be worse.

1. Do they mean logistically?
I trust the military knows how to handle that...

If they're worried it's dangerous, um... I guess they think everybody's safe right now?

There are reasons for keeping a military presence there (which anyone may or may not agree with), but this is the stupidest reason I've heard. (Except for "We must defeat the Islamo-facists.")

17. No US soldier hung off choppers (except in a freep's wet dream)
Combat troops pulled out, in good order March 73 following the cease fire agreement. Only a few Marines and military advisers remained.

Those were civilians, mostly South Vietnamese, charging the choppers. The choppers were from off shore carriers; we were removing US civilians and South Vietnamese, most of whom worked for the US gov't. That was 29 Apr 75. The last American troops to die were two Marines when their evac chopper crashed 30 Apr 75.

2. Fucking morons. All we gotta do is pack up our shot and come home. It's actually
pretty simple. But of course, leave it to the freeps to come up with utter nonsense.

8. They are also talking about ...
there will be trouble training Iraqis because they are afraid that the Iraqis will turn on the soldiers. What the hell have they been doing then for the past three years. I have heard over and over again how they have trained a certain amount of battalions... We can not forget the scene where they told some Iraqis that they had trained that they would be stationed in Baghdad and they went wild tearing off their uniforms and throwing tantrums because they didn't want to go there...

11. You bet. Others would ultimately do the dirty work for them.
And they planned it that way, if there was ever a plan.

7. Iraq troops
Edited on Sun Dec-17-06 05:06 PM by spag68
I'm pretty sure that the military has a plan for bug-out. We could be out of there so fast, the Iraq people would not know what was happening. Besides, we don't have to go that far, for most of the troops. We already know much of the equipment is not worth saving, so leave it there. re-institute the no fly zones, keep watch from nearby, and see what happens. That couldn't be worse then now, could it?

19. The ideal solution
for Republican Redemption. Reality SWAP...Replace each soldier with a Republican Congressperson.

A live broadcast air dropping Congress critters as temporary cover while evacuating
soldiers out of harms way and home.

What better gift could Congress give themselves than live cover for returning troops?

24. oh, I whole-heartedly agree
those that wish to continue this nightmare in Iraq should by all means go there tout de suite and send our soldiers home. And no body armor for them either for three years.
