CNN poll shows interesting trend
The latest poll from CNN shows a very interesting trend. It shows Al Gore neck & neck against McCain & Guillani. This poll being conducted while Gore has continuously ruled out all possibilities of him running for election. Even Barack Obama has closed the gap.

We need a good strong candidate for the '08 election to be sealed. My hope is that Gore will re-think his position & enter the race or that we will see a surge of support for Obama. Hilary has to much baggage to win. With 8 years in the WH & another 6 in the senate she has enough negative press to make her a liability at this point. My position is that we need a candidate that can win in a presidential election. Hilary does not have enough support from the general public to win.

2. It's nice to see Gore moving up in the polls
I really hope he changes his mind and decides to run when he sees how much support he has. Anyone else is far behind him for me.

Gore is the best choice for a Democratic Presidential win.

6. Someone needs to convince Al he can do more for the environment
as President than as a private citizen. And then he'll have plenty of time post-presidency, and be more effective in that role.

11. announcing might actually hurt his numbers
a great public servant like Gore is particularly appealing in that he is not running for office. He is just serving, with nothing personal to gain.

I realize that it's a catch-22, but the very fact of candidacy has a somewhat sobering effect on voters.

I may be wrong on this, but I'll bet Gore has considered this. He is a powerful figure when he is not running. As a candidate he was viewed differently.

8. If the people want Al Gore to run, they should take him as he is.
I do not want to hear the constant critique that Gore should lose weight if he wants to run. I'm sick of hearing it.

Take Gore as he is or forget about it. Gore is eight years older than when he was elected President. He has aged some, we all have.

We need Al Gore to take his rightful place in the White House.

9. Gore is one of several candidates I can support happily
We're very lucky this time around...we've got strong candidates all over the place. And I truly like Al. But I'm not really going to think about his until next summer.

10. Folks, I really don't think Gore will go for it
He said in an interview that he's basically fallen out of love with politics. In order to run for president, you have to have that fire in your belly. It appears to me that he just doesn't have that burn anymore. As a result, I would be shocked if he ran.
