Another example of legalized murder by business
Edited on Mon Dec-25-06 12:24 PM by Stargazer99
Just today on one page! one page only, people I read where a Republican Frank Murkowski pardoned a company in Alaska after being convicted of CRIMINALLY NEGLIGENT DEATH of worker Gary Stone. Like a typical Republican Murkowski felt the punishment was too severe. I suppose the death of a father and husband was not severe? The company had been warned by an expert that there was a high probability of snow slide on the job site according to a report from the state's safety occupational agency (does that remind you of the Republican/Conservative whine about too much government?. Can you imagine what would happen without government agency? This Republican pardon for ciminality will allow this company (Whitewater Engineering/president being Thom Fischer)to have better insurance breaks and opportunities for doing business with federal and state jobs paid for by YOUR tax money. As an individual just how much do you think you'd get away with? Zero! and you know it.
Then on the same page I learn Weyerhaeuser company are using logging practices that have decimated the Norther Spotted Owl by 50%. And get this Weyerhaeuser is on the board of the Forest Stewardship Council. CONFLICT OF INTEREST....even an idiot would understand that.
Along with the report last week of a 19 year old worker losing both his legs due to lax safety observance just boils my blood. Along with the outsourcing, tax breaks, etc we have legalized murder of the common worker. God send us someone who can get these damn big businesses in control before labor is totally demoralized!

2. One of the things that most angers
me about the conservatives/republicans is their total hypocrisy. They know how to pull the right strings, say the right things and then they are the opposite of what they scream loudest about. They led the whole sham of 'three strikes' penalties to punish people, loudest on the death penalty and victims rights. We all acknowledge that people who do wrong need punishment but they neglect to say it doesn't include them, they and their buddies in business are exempt and they roam free to ruin peoples lives. When insurance companies and the health care industry deny people in need they are sentencing them to death or at the least a life time of pain. Is this not murder? Lessen regulations on the mining industry and are no longer responsible for the deaths that they cause, is this not murder? Destroy pension plans for people who have 'worked hard and done the right thing' and sentence them to poverty. Is this not immoral and criminal? And the CEO's walk away with their golden parachutes. You could go down a list of every area, health care, environment etc and they would be exempt, free to kill, free to abandon their responsibilities with no consequence.

4. The political RW neocons and their allies and supporters, corporate america foster and.......
engage in corruption, fraud and conspiracy as everyday business as usual. Labor must NEVER be demoralized as THAT is what THEY want us to do. THESE CRIMINALS need to be exposed, charged, indicted, tried and removed from office then thrown on jail.
