Silence of the righties
Edited on Mon Dec-25-06 02:25 PM by Greatwildbeast
Do yourself a favor: Go to any of the various open political forums around the net and take note of any righties still aggresively supporting the president. You won't find many.

Sure you'll see them on the numerous "Hard Right" web-pages, but that doesn't count. Those folks would support the Bushies even if they decided to attack Canada just to grab their oil.

Below are a couple of links (same web-site). This particular forum kind of stinks in that it squashes most free discussion, ie call Bush a "Boob" and you get your thread locked. However it is indicative of just how few righties will step up to the plate and defend the "Idiot In Chief"

http://www.politicalcrossfire.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1 This one is the main page and contains as far as i can see no positive threads for President Bush. A year ago this site would have been teaming with Pro Bush / Anti Liberal activism.

In fact the only "Bill Clinton" bash is actually a relevant post about the massacres in Yugoslavia. May even be a meritable thread. It sure wasn't written by a republican. No GOP'er wants to bash Clinton's war because it puts even more attention of Bush's TWO FAILED wars.

http://www.politicalcrossfire.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=72414 This one is remarkable because 95% of the people polled believe that the Bush legacy will be one of much shame.

Again: That particular political page really sucks if you like to express yourself. Plus it is just too big. It is a real "Cliquey" kind of forum. The people who post and get read the most have known each other for many years. It is almost impossible for a newbie to get read.

The site was chosen only because of it's access to the views of large amounts of the electorate who post online political points.

And with so few defenders available, does the word "Impeachment" sound more valid?

Careful: President Bush is a wounded cornered animal. As dangerous as a strungout junkie with a gun and a knife. He could easily do something ten times as stupid as he's already done.

1. Yes they do not defend dubya anymore
But they are still spouting their Rush talking points. They were especially obnoxious during the recent stem cell debate in MO. And they are already dogging many of the Dems elected in November, especially the ones that beat incumbents.

Here is a good example:

So the battle is not yet ours. It is one down, jillions to go.

What I've noticed from the Hard right web-page(s) I visit is that these reichwingnuts still have a misplaced sense of blame.

So they are STILL pilloring Cindy Sheehan or (even) Michael J. Fox as treasonous snakes.

What does this mean? Means they are continuing to work in a "Self destruct" mode. They have these irrelevant thoughts because the talk show righties put these ideas in their heads. What they SHOULD be doing is cleaning house and developing a more centrist campaign for 2008.

So while Rush Limbaugh is getting plenty of mileage (still!) out of bashing Cindy Sheehan he is doing so at the expense of a workable strategy in 08. What I figure is these talk show clowns realize that the "Jig is up" and now must continue down familiar patterns only for the sake of advertising revenues.

2. The 'morans' at Freeperville are still twitchy barking moonbats
They really should have spell-check as a pre-post requirement...

4. I'm still seeing the Bushwhackers defending Bush, Iraq and stopping the liberal war on
christmas in one of the forums I go to. Nothing like seeing someone admit that they pay no taxes because they are able to use the tax loop holes to not only not pay income tax but also be able to write all taxes on new equipment off and end up getting all their money back complaining how democrats and liberals want to give money to the poor. They demand that the government stop that kind of waste of tax dollars. Also don't forget the founding fathers celebrated christmas with the pilgrims. Though from research I've done the founding fathers considered christmas a british holiday and the pilgrims out lawed celebrating xmas, when I posted that christmas wasn't made a federal holiday until 1870 and the present way its celebrated didn't start until 1920, they insist that christmas has always been a big part of american tradition since 1776 and gift given,Santa and shopping have always been the christmas tradition. Also they still insist that shrubs done everything for america, the Iraqis and the world because he is a good man and never makes a mistake.

5. I too have noticed the silence of the Bush supporters.
I remember their big mouths when we went to war in Iraq. We were invincible and could crush the entire world. Now it turns out we cannot crush a few lightly armed insurgents.

I hate to think of what Bush can still do in the next two years. Why should anyone think that things will get better? I doubt that Bush will get enlightened and do something smart. Only the voters can do something smart like writing to their congressman/woman.

6. Yeah, the silence is almost creepy.
And sometimes, I feel that it's like they're waiting for us (or someone else) to provoke him. "(A) wounded cornered animal" is right.
