Why would he even comment on VP? No one runs for VP in the primary.

that with the passing years and all his work in the creation of a veteran's caucus he is still submissive to the political "help" from the Clinton team that is passing automatically to Hillary. A supremely intelligent and commanding tactician, even in the civilian jungle of democracy, should find some way to break out of the permanent position. Or does he think Hillary really is the superior candidate and the best person to be president? We all harbor delusions of some sort but maybe he should question this idea which is his biggest roadblock to presenting himself as a strong choice.

No one comes out and says they want to be VP, even the most maverick and innocent. More to the point is distancing oneself from the strings and dependency. Many "dream teams" can be made of the lists of brilliant Dem candidates. Almost all, flattering as they purport to be, are arranged to put everyone in a fixed place below one's favorite. I suspect, whether one agrees the person finally chosen is the "best", they really and genuinely will have had to earn it the hard way.

That seems to be a major difference between us and the Republicans. Their leaders want a team they can dominate while we are looking for candidates who can think for themselves.

But Gore was "burnt out" by the last one. Will he go it again?
