3. Hubby works for that company, their engineers, not english majors. that got outsourced.
Funnier still, the Chairman of the Board is a Bushy who was on the Bush economic board(recall the fake economic meetings Bush would have.)We were shocked to see Hilary here.
the CEO, Mike Splinter, seems to understand well who the solar business needs in the WH. A dem. company is getting into equipment to make solar panels and that business is growing faster than expected.

5. nooo.....

Edgy !!
manipulating, not leading. in the first place, if you're going to lead, you've got to lead on your own strength -- not someone else's. you've got to have your own drum...or ...get out o'the kitchen. i don't know about you but i'm looking for a democrat to lead by INSPIRATION not divisive~ation. (...all we are saying). undecided no doubt, we have a lot of good choices, a whole pack of democrats that are trying to LEAD, step aside.

someone commented on al gore's 'assault on reason', said it made no sense in the context of george lakoff's 'framing' arguments. i'm not saying there's no truth there. yes, that works, it does work, and it worked for ROVE. framing works, focus groups work, manipulating works, inciting hatred, that works too.

but does it mean that's the only successful way to lead?

Bill RICHARDSON says: "On my first day in office, I'd end the war in Iraq. On my second day, I'd announce a plan for achieving national energy independence." .......EDWARDS says, "I was WRONG." (-Not- "mistakes 'were made',".... mind you.).......BARRACK has gotten nation's attention based on inspiration, not hate.......WES CLARK says, protect America, not George Bush. GORE says, stand up against the assault on reason.

it's true, hillary has a great deal of experience, knowledge, strength and ability.
but if hillary cant find it within herself to understand what a LEADER is, she may have to step out of the way. i hear the drumming...:o

6. er

Which is to say....hillary comes across like ROVE when she tries to follow BILL's blueprint for the CENTRIST; where everyone else is whack. ...

....manipulating, not leading. if you're going to lead, you've got to lead on your own strength -- not someone else's...

Hillary Clinton brings innovation agenda to Silicon Valley
Proposes $50 billion energy research agency
By Julia Prodis Sulek
Mercury News 05/31/2007

Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton spoke the language of Silicon Valley on Thursday when she laid out an "innovation" plan to the valley's high-tech leaders aimed at creating new jobs, encouraging math and science education, and "bringing the information age to every corner of the country."

"Call this version 1.0 of my innovation agenda," the former first lady and New York senator said, suggesting a partnership with the group to "tweak it and fine tune it."

As part of her nine-point plan, Clinton said she would create a $50 billion energy research agency to reduce energy dependence and the threat of global warming; increase the research budgets of the National Science Foundation, and increase investment in research at the National Institute of Health.

"A culture that values and invests in ideas is part and parcel of the promise of America. And we have always supported that culture with public investment," Clinton told a group of CEOs and executives gathered at a Silicon Valley Leadership Group meeting at Applied Materials in Santa Clara. "The fire that was sparked here in this valley has made such a difference, but it can't be allowed to sputter out."<snip>

Other than the already in the immigration bill increase H1b visas for scientists with an easing of requirements to let them world indefinitely in the US, She had some ideas that I had not yet heard in such detail from other candidates:

Tax incentives to encourage broadband deployment in under served areas of the country

Tax incentives for encouraging new technology in green and renewable energy (her renewable energy plan "energy 2.0 to change from "leading in foreign oil imports...(to)...leading in green-tech exports..There's no reason we should be subsidizing oil discovery and exploration".

Overhauling the health care system to help not only the uninsured, but the under-insured.

Reform patent system (to get rid of copy cat software patents, I assume).

On H1b visa's her hosts pointed out that 53 percent of all engineers in Silicon Valley are foreign born and three of 10 new jobs are created by foreign born CEOs.

All in all, one of the better Silicon valley speeches.

10. Also from Clinton: "We need MORE H1B visas"
Just heard Hillary Clinton say this on Lou Dobbs, speaking to that group of Silicon Valley CEOs:
"We need to increase the number of H1B visas....".

Just unbelievable. Now it's completely clear where Clinton got her campaign contributions, and who's interests she really cares about--the interests of her big campaign contributors. Exclusively.

She's now the leader of the pack when it comes to being a cheap-labor advocate, and a proponent of suppressing American wages.

Along with her support of the Senate's Comprehensive Amnesty Bill, and likely support of increased outsourcing, I see no reason to vote for her. (and every reason to vote for her opponent.)

9. CEOs' favorite
Just what we need in our next President--someone who's well-liked by most CEOs. No wonder she raised more campaign money than anyone else.
