Bush declares cold war over

By JENNIFER LOVEN, Associated Press Writer
22 minutes ago

PRAGUE, Czech Republic - President Bush on Tuesday challenged
Russia's criticism of a proposed U.S. missile shield in Europe,
saying Russia has nothing to fear from such a system and declaring
"the Cold War is over."

"It ended," Bush said in his stop at this former Soviet satellite.
"The people of the Czech Republic don't have to choose between
being a friend of the United States or a friend with Russia. You
can be both. We don't believe in a zero-sum world."

The president, in the Czech Republic as part of an eight-day trip
to Europe, spoke as Russia's opposition to the proposed defense
system mounts.

Bush said he would make case directly to Russian President Vladimir
Putin.

"My message will be Vladimir — I call him Vladimir — you shouldn't
fear a missile defense system," Bush said. "As a matter of fact,
why don't you cooperate with us on a missile defense system."

Bush is out of his league here. Putin is scary as all hell. An ex-KGB killer in control of a huge stockpile of nuclear weapons.

I make it a policy to take anyone who can destroy all of civilization twenty times over seriously.

2. He is trying to start one again
and he's declaring it over? Looks like China and Russia don't agree if he continues on his current course.

7. In * 's brain
it was never over, just like the first Gulf War was never really over. When do we resume the Revolutionary War?

3. That's fine - - - if you're in denial.
Yesterday Russia and today China threatened a new arms race with the U.S. because of the missile shield this country wants to build in Europe. THEY seem to think the Cold War is revivable.

4. The Department of Defense knew the cold war was over 25 years ago
The Department of Defense defines the "Cold War era" from 02 September 1945 to 26 December 1991.

It would seem little bush boy doesn't even know the history of the part of Government that he is the "Commander and Chief" of.

Oh! I forgot, bush is an idiot.

5. When * Speaks - Most People Believe That He Means The Opposite Of What He Is Saying.......
so if he is declaring the 'Cold War' over - Putin is hearing that the 'Cold War' is back on. Knowing * - I wouldn't doubt it.

Unless - Putin is in on this and this whole 'saber rattling' over the 'missle defense system in Europe' is just a diversion to take everyone's mind off of the rising violence and failure of the surge in Iraq. After all - Putin is invited to Kennebunkport. This seems all just staged.

I seem to remember some "you are either with us or against us" (re: terrorism) rhetoric

not to mention the implications of being unpatriotic if you do not 100% stand behind bush and his policies....
