6. She did handle it well.
If she would have answered the way her non-supporters here on the DU wanted it would have been the lead story tonight for the Hillary bashing msm.

If a problem is completely in the hands of one person, and nothing anyone says will matter, and that one person hates everything we stand for and stands for everything we hate - why comment. She can't change the preordained outcome. It was a good "no call".

As it is, the only people pissed off at her are those who don't support her anyway.

8. A statement about how such a pardon indicates contempt
for the law might be a good idea because it is the simple truth.

Presidents shouldn't be able to pardon their administration crooks who got caught.

While I understand that an opposition party is perfectly capable of mounting a series of politically motivated trials against any presidency and manipulating judge, jury and venue to obtain a conviction, this is what the appeals process is for.

I don't want to see another Weinberger or even Nixon pardoned.

He should not be pardoned - the only thing the msm would be talking about for the next week would be Bill's pardon of Marc Rich. Again, good "no call".

I wonder how you would handle a campaign where the msm (and the opposition) is watching as you run on your own record and that of your spouse. Why should she getting into a bitch fight about the Marc Rich pardon since it doesn't have anything to do with her? Geeez.

On edit - Why don't you write directly to Bush about Scooter. I agree that he shouldn't be pardoned but it is not her call.

13. No, it's not her call and that could have been part of the statement
And the quick answer for Marc Rich was that Scooter and Cheney both lobbied heavily for that one.

you want her campaign to have the week long (unnecessary) discussion.

which wasn't much more than blow con job by Bill to Hillary.

17. No.
It is about this candidate getting drawn into a debate that she does not need to get involved in. She is clearly exhibiting way better message management than some of the other Dem candidates.

Right now, only her non-supporters on the DU care about this.

and that's probably the reason she bobbed and weaved and dodged the question.

11. Bravo. I believe she decided and stated on TV (the last debate)
Edited on Tue Jun-19-07 05:23 PM by Alamom

" She or We, I believe (she spoke for the other candidates and they seem to go along with it) WILL NOT answer hypothetical questions. No one knows what they will do until presented with the exact problem or situation.

The pardon would be a little easier to discuss but once you've set a precedent of this nature during a debate with millions of witnesses, it may be a good idea to stand by it.....
or you might get the old "flip flopper" crap.

15. No they won't.
The public is not interested in what the Dem Presidential candidates have to say on the matter because they know a decision will be made long before a Dem is in the oval office.

16. The M$M is "full of themselves" having duped a good percentage of Americans into this Un-Godly War
with disinformation and spin, they HONESTLY think that they can talk us into Nominating HRC. I honestly don't believe the polls.

1) Rupert Murdoch held a fundraiser for HRC;

2) DLC is promoting her full-throttle at their site; and

3) the entire USA TV M$M (both cable and broadcast) is singing HRC's praises.

However, I've not met ONE person, republican or democrat, who even likes HRC, much less would vote for her.

Perhaps HRC's supporters are right and I mix with the WRONG people? ... OR perhaps they are hyping HRC to win the Democratic Nomination so that *any republican nominee* will destroy her in the General Election?

20. You think Bernie Sanders won't get re-elected because he doesn't want to pursue impeachment.
So yeah, your politcal divining rod is a bit off to say the least.

21. You're nibbling on the wrong thread. If Bernie Sanders continues to cower, it doesn't matter that
he has all kinds of excellent ideas, because they won't go anywhere if he's gutless.

Yes, if Bernie Sanders continues to behave in a cowardly manner - cowering to the power elite, I hope he does lose to his next democratic challenger in six years.

Remember, no one person is "a God" and if they lack the moral courage to put their careers on the line, they DESERVE to lose their House/Senate seat the next go round to another qualified democrat.
