The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has just announced that State Treasurer Thomas Ravenel has been indicted by federal jury on cocaine distribution charges. Ravenel, who was elected last fall, was named the Chairman of presidential candidate Rudy Giualiani’s (R-N.Y.) South Carolina campaign in April.

7. There is now a clear pattern emerging of Guillani's associates
...they appear to be mostly criminals.

What about Mayor Bloomberg, does he also have a large criminal element among his advisor's and executive?

4. This has been headline news here in Greenville, SC, the past two mornings.
Yesterday's headlines in the Gannett-owned Greenville News:

RAVENEL COCAINE CHARGE ROCKS POLITICAL LANDSCAPE

and

FALLOUT COULD ADD TO GOP DIVISIONS, AFFECT GIULIANI CAMPAIGN

Greenville, and the SC Upstate, is a hot-bed of right-wing, fundy "conservatism". Greenville is the home of Bob Jones "University". These folks (GOPers) are mighty uncomfortable about this whole thing. They are sweating where this investigation is leading. After all, Ravenel is charged with engaging in a conspiracy in which he bought cocaine for himself and provided it for others for their personal use. Others in SC politics? Others in DC politics?

5. Very good news indeed for certain special interest groups

The arrest of Mr. Ravenel will help stem any decline in the full-employment for criminal defense lawyers
sector. Ditto private investigators, bail bondspersons, suppliers of equipment and services to narcotics law enforcement, employees in the Drug Czar offices (including the Czaress and all the little Czardines) and many, many others, too numerous to mention.
