JUST A REMINDER......

Oprah Endorses Obama

By Jeff Zeleny

In Chicago, there is no question who carries the title of the Big O. That would be Oprah Winfrey. It’s a safe bet that Senator Barack Obama doesn’t mind playing second fiddle to the talk show icon, particularly when he has her endorsement at his disposal.

Ms. Winfrey, who for years has been a close friend to Mr. Obama, reaffirmed her support for his presidential candidacy during an interview Tuesday evening on CNN’s Larry King Live. It is the first time that Ms. Winfrey has endorsed – not to mention thrown her brand behind – a political candidate.

“What made you do so now?” Mr. King asked.

“Because I know him personally,” Ms. Winfrey replied. “I think that what he stands for, what he has proven that he can stand for, what he has shown was worth me going out on a limb for – and I haven’t done it in the past because I haven’t felt that anybody, I didn’t know anybody well enough to be able to say, I believe in this person.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------
OPRAH WINFREY HAS SUPPORTED EVERY WINNING CANDIDATE SINCE 1992.

"Oh jeepers! Congrats on Oprah's endorsement of Clinton. That's sure an impressive endorsement. Gee wiz, I wish she would have endorsed Obama. But that's OK. Good luck to you! I'm going to pour myself a nice glass of milk and toast to your candidate's good fortune! Oooooooo, on the good ship, lollipop ......."

6. If a Bush supporter endorses Obama, that is the only endorsement that matters
That's it, let's all fall in line behind Obama. :sarcasm:

9. I think this is stupid.Who gives a F88ck who Oprah supports?
I lost ALL respect for her when she soaked the poor working women for seminars that were supposed to help them get material wealth. The seminars were between $2000 amd $3000! If they could afford that they probablly wouldn't be in trouble. She had them go further indebt.Nice gal, and she doesn't really give away her own money. It is always sponsored, even her school!

17. link?
The only seminar I could find Oprah giving was a "Live your best life" seminar, for $185.

And since presumably nobody was forced to buy a ticket, what's the problem?

22. I read about one several years ago that cost a lot more tha that .It .was several days long
You are right about nobody being "forced " to buy a ticket but the one I read about really turned me off as it had a lot of Marinne Williamson type people and seemed to just be a hoax. But whatever.I don't like anyone deluding anybody with false illusions and that is what it seemed to me.

19. She spent over $40 million on that school
I don't even like her, I don't like her comments about kids in this country, I think she's out of touch, and I don't think she really grasps that what saved her life was the fact that she had one adult in her life who gave a shit and that's one more than the kids she looks down her nose at.

Still, she has never taken advatange of anybody to my knowledge, and she put a buttload of her own money into her school.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/africa/08/26/btsc.koinange/index.html

And she's important because a whole bunch of people adore her. It's like saying who gives a fuck who Al Gore supports simply because 90% of the country doesn't give a shit about him. More people care about what Oprah thinks than care about what Al Gore thinks, bank on that.
