2. LOL! As an Obama girl myself--I second that. WHO are these pollsters calling?
Obviously not the people who gather in the thousands to hear our guy speak! I remain baffled...

5. Two...since her negative rating on the MD poll has about 6 threads going...
I thought one highlighting it here would provide a good balance...

26.  Who are they calling?
Oh, just all the old voters. All the unhip voters. All the has-been Hollywood stars rather than the contemporary A-listers. Steven Spielberg and your nana in Boca. So unfair really: why should their votes count as much as ours do? Why, almost NONE of them own ipods! They don't even have belly-button rings, let alone tongue-studs! How can we let such a backwards electorate decide this nation's destiny?!? :sarcasm:

site more than makes up for a few links to the M-D poll.

6. I'll vote for her if she wins the nomination, but I don't think she will win against guliani

or fred thompson

Polls can say what they want, but a lot of people I talk to here in California, won't vote for her, nothing scientific, but the animosity expressed to me goes way beyond just politics

It probably is due to the constant bashing of the Clinton's by the media all these years. I am not saying it is justified, just my observation

Hell, look here on DU, people call her republican light or worse, yet if you look at her position on woman's rights, civil rights, healthcare etc., she is no republican or conservative. On 95% of the issues she is progressive, but I think it will be difficult to fight the propaganda

7. I live in Virginia and know literlaly dozens of people planning on voting for her...
Independents and on Republican included...

Judging from my circle...she will take Virginia easily...

All depends who you hang with

11. So you happen to hang with some oddball repukes then.
Last poll i saw, only like 8% of repukes said they would even consider supporting her. That's not promising.

Edited on Fri Jun-29-07 11:09 PM by still_one
done. That does not mean they will vote for Hillary though

I do think that the Democrats are more likely to turn out to vote in 2008, than the republicans

9. To nominate Hillary is a total deathwish for the Dems. That much is obvious.
I hope i don't have to be proven right.

12. I don't know about that, but I do know it will be much closer than it should be
and that is unfortunate after what we have been through this last six years

14. From what I've read lately, she'll have no trouble with Thompson.
He's no match for her. He's old, slow, and tired. She'll cut him off at the knees. Rudy, however, will still be trouble. He is, unfortunately, much quicker and scrappier than Fred. He might actually come across as more likeable, as well.

15. I agree with you
Rudy is going to be a problem. For some reason his garbage does not seem to stick to him. I personally think he is a snake but damned if I can find anyone around my neck of the woods who agrees with me.

17. I wish some of the NY locals that really know Rudy would get some airtime
If half the people in this country really knew his background and "accomplishments", Rudy couldn't pull single digits. Self serving, arrogant, vindictive, authoritarian asshole. Let's see what did I forget? Oh, that's right MEDIA WHORE!

19. 336 people as a sample sure is mighty small...
Any decent poll has a basic benchmark of 1,000...if only because doing the metrics and MoE is a little easier...plus it does give a wider viewpoint.

20. The entire sample was over 800...
Edited on Sat Jun-30-07 12:33 AM by SaveElmer
So while your complaint is perhaps relevent in terms of her fav/unfav within the party, her numbers with all voters would not be...

Besides the low sample size and high MoE of the Mason Dixon poll didn't seem to bother you...

21. Dude, as I have said MANY times, polls this early are political crack hits
I don't believe them, no matter what they say at this point. The first votes to be cast are six months away. I have said this repeatedly...and the Mason Dixon poll is crap too...

"625 likely general-election voters with a MoE 4%...Obama's numbers look good

It's way too early, but the trend of favorite/negative ratings seem pretty locked so far."

Not sure where in there you mentioned the poll was "crap"

Edited on Sat Jun-30-07 12:45 AM by zulchzulu
As for Senator Clinton's favorable/unfavorable ratings, there are a LOT of polls indicating the poll mentioned...if that's news to you, then...um...

On edit:

If you think that Senator Clinton doesn't have any negative ratings among voters...um...good for you!

24. Yeah...didn't see the word crap...or anything approaching it...
You seemed rather happy with the Mason Dixon Poll...

And I don't recall the thread you started specifically to let the world know that it was way too early to put any stock it...

Guess I just missed that one...

Good thing you remembered to do it for the CBS Poll...

25. Give it a rest, bubba
1. Don't believe Senator Clinton has high negatives if it makes you happy. I want you to be happy.

2. I'll say it again...polls this early are meaningless for the most part.

3. Put me on "Ignore" if you want. I wouldn't mind at all.
