I was talking with a RW "friend"
He is really a nice guy but extremely brainwashed by FAUX "News".

Anyway I was bemoaning the fact that local news has become nothing more than tabloid sensationalism. I suggested that the least they could do, considering their use of public airwaves, was to spend a few minutes keeping people updated on the latest Bills that local Representatives are authoring, sponsoring, and/or voting on.

To which he replied very passionately, "Be careful...you sound like Hillary. She wants to pass legislation that dictates what is broadcast!".

This, my friends, is the corporate brainwashing of America at work.

*sigh*

1. I deal with this at work all the time...
I ask them to show me the actual legislation or show me their source. They never can because they hear it on Rush Limbaugh.

4. Hillary seems to attract hate
Lots of people seem to enjoy attacking HRC.

Whether it's her fault or not is a different question.

My hunch is that the GOP wants us to go with Hillary.

That's why I hope we will find a stronger candidate.

Someone who will be much tougher for their guy to beat.

I'm thinking either Al Gore, Wes Clark or John Edwards.

Barack Obama would make a great VP - then Prez in 2016.

5. Like you, I continue to be amazed at how quickly they parrot falsehoods.
A quick scan of hate-radio last week netted a couple of references to resurrecting the fairness doctrine.

It seems to be a red-meat issue for the knuckle draggers, so they're going to go right on pretending like it's Item One on the Scary Libruhl Agenda. It plays to their worst fears--a Woman Preznit, forcing their beloved right-wing radio heroes to endure sharing their broadcast platforms with lefties.

These are not real bright people we're dealing with, but it never hurts to ask where they heard about this stuff, and what specific legislation has been brought forward.

6. To which I would reply:
"O RLY? What's your source?"
