Wendy Vitter thinks it is "private" and her business when she forgives Vitter but
she has the right to publicly comment and criticize Hillary for staying with Bill? Whaat??? this is just way over the top! Even the GOP have got to notice this hypocrisy! She says the state of their marriage is no one business yet the Clinton's marriage was fair game to her?? Vitter obviously wants press coverage when he is running for office but NOW he wants the press to back off? He can't have it both ways.He is a Senator and a public figure. He made the choice to run for office. He has to accept the consequences.

You hear that folks? The answer to a happy marriage is hookers! So get to it!

22. I bet it is. How about the family? Is it stronger with their children
knowing their daddy fools around with prostitutes?

How about their church? Do they still have the same respect for the guy that attends services?

Edited on Mon Jul-16-07 06:15 PM by madaboutharry
What arrogance. The ugly right-wing cabal that went after the Clintons did not respect their need to deal with a "private matter." The right-wing tore Sen. Clinton down for staying with her husband and working through their problems. This Wendy Vitter is an ass. Ugh! I hope the people of Louisiana vote this shmuck of a Senator out of office.

8. This reminds me of my...
former rep. Don Sherwood(R), when he allegedly beat up his "girlfriend", who was half his age. D.C. police and Capitol police both involved, but him and his wife wanted their privacy and seemed to have gotten it, as the story went away. But, HOORAY, we now have a Dem rep., Chris Carney.

10. I was reminded of that travolta movie
when the Hill character and the bill guy were on TV, and the second the kleeg lights were shut off, her hand let go and the face changed.

I suspect the same thing happened here.

but for her to demand peace and quiet when it hits her like a 2x4 upside the head, when her shit of a hubby can't keep it in his pants, AND they are both ultra-precious, ultra-conservative, ultra-religious assholes, well her demand for privacy seems quite selfserving, doesn't it?

15. Yes, that would be the case in most other marriages
But most marriages don't involve a United States Senator, Mrs. Vitter. Even someone of your limited perspicacity should be able to recognize a certain uniqueness to that position, no? Or don't you think the people's elected representatives should hold to a slightly higher morality than what might be showcased on a particularly sleazy episode of Cops?

18. It's more than just the hypocrisy it's how the institution is defined
They dare erect legislation for so called MORAL reasons, then have gall decide how the state shall dole out to rest of the public, yet that good ole boy wink and nod makes it all okay for someone like him. That by total definition is more than just hypocrisy and where is the rest of congress on this issue, especially the republicans

19. I suspect a lot of things are going on behind the scenes here.
He must keep his seat if at all possible. She will stay with him to help him keep it but I'm sure she will be rewarded in the future. Once he is no longer a Senator then the real Mrs. Vitter will be revealed. Right now, me thinks it's all about the politics and power.

21. WHO cares?
So, she's a hypocrite. Vitter is a hypocrite. I just wish those of us who couldn't care less about Clinton's sex life could say the same for this guy and get back to fighting on the issues. This kind of stuff takes our eyes off the REAL fights at hand that truly matter. Sex - and who got what from whom - just doesn't matter. The hypocrisy? Yes, it's frustrating, but in the long run, this whole sex crap DOES NOT matter. Iraq, health care, corporate power run amok - now THAT'S important shit. Too many are allowing the "DC Madame" story to distract them. It's SEX! That's all. This other stuff -- our nation rides on our focus on these issues.
