the joy of googling "bush admits"... wow i found an old jewel:
Bush admits he targeted Saddam from the start:

-----------------------------------------------------

WASHINGTON -- President Bush acknowledged for the first time yesterday that he was mapping preparations to topple Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein as soon as he took office.

Bush's comments came in response to former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill's contention in a new book that the chief executive was gunning for Saddam nine months before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and two years before the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Bush's comments appeared likely to stoke campaign claims by Democratic rivals for the White House that the president was planning to attack Iraq, possibly in retaliation for Saddam's attempted 1993 assassination of his father, former President Bush.

anyone who believes this war is justified is WRONG.
THIS IS OBVIOUS PROOF.

1. It is true that Clinton also had a policy for regime change in Iraq....
no, that's not a diversion from blaming bush, but it is just saying US foreign policy sucks, and has for a long time.

4. Working behind the scenes for regime change...
is a far cry from invasion and occupation.

10. Serious question: If Al Gore and won in 2000, do you really think he would have
attacked, invaded, and occupied Iraq?

I don't think he would have, but what do you think?

11. Hell, no, Al wouldn't have done such a damn-fool thing
...but then, since the Clinton administration had Al-Quaida on their radar, we would never have had a 9/11 and thus no pretext to invade in the first place.

Bush enabled 9/11 by ignoring the threat. Gore was and is too smart for that.

13. Not sure 9-11 would not have happened, but
we certainly would not have gone after Iraq.. Afghanistan yes, Iraq, no.

14. Yeah, that's a fair worst-case scenario
I still think that Al would have kept his eye on the ball, but the bad guys do get lucky sometimes.

5. He was making plans to topple Saddam from the day he decided to
run for president. It's WHY he wanted to become president, IMHO. He didn't mind being Cheney's puppet for the other stuff.
