Who would you like to see enter the Republican Presidential race?
Will an anti-Bush/Cheney candidate emerge?

Who would that be and could a Republican anti-Bush/Cheney movement win in 2008?

Are there any Republicans you would trust as President?

10. Not a safe choice. Cheney's already made him look good....
We could end up with a Jeb/Satan ticket, and then we'd be sorry! :sarcasm:

more than happy with the current Loser Lineup. I think we dodged a bullet with Hagel staying out--why wish now for a good candidate on THEIR side? We're going to win--I believe this more and more as the weeks go by.

18. Is the current line-up just a bunch of Cheney stand-ins?
Are they trotting out a bunch of lame horses to make the old plug look better?

21. Well, I think the lineup is being groomed to take the neocon puppet position,
at any rate. Rudy is being coached by Norman Podhoretz on the Middle East (God help us), Romney's backed by Bushies, and Thompson is being helped by the Cheney family and Mary Matalin. There's not a good apple in the bunch, unless you count Ron Paul, and he won't be a factor.

13. I've always assumed he would be the candidate, and is waiting for the last minute
to deflect as much criticism as possible, as long as possible. However, I think Cheney might get beaten by an internal popular rebellion if a good, squeaky-clean choice enters the race. The current crowd of dummies may be there to pave the way for their "Savior." Maybe a religious leader would outrun the current stable.

there is no one in sight. It's stunning to think that the current Repub leadership has eclipsed any others who might once have been considered.

28. Lincoln Chaffee would make a great President..
but too bad Republicans would never vote for him, even if nominated!

Gordon Smith, Chris Shays, and Olympia Snowe are a few others who have some sanity.

25. Yes--THAT is someone new I'd like to see enter the race--he and Thompson
could beat the shit out of each other for the religious-redneck vote, Rudy and Mitt would lock up the Northern Repubs who get boners over the thought of torture and terra, and we could sit back and LAUGH till we pee our pants.

32. Hitler would have made a good neo-con....
the present field lacks a good representation of Hitler, they're all Hitler wannabes , but they don't have that certain "oomph".

On the serious side, the GOP has been so battered by the current jughead, it may take them a generation to get any credibility back. There is not one GOP individual I can see that would make a good president....the days of Lincoln/Eisenhower are dead and gone for the GOP...it has become the party of fools.
