"What do you mean Impeachment is off the table"
Hi,

Thought I would share this with you. My wife, who is not the most political person in the world, late 20s, very hard working, typical "middle-america" I guess you would call her. We were discussing late last night Bush and Cheney. We were discussing the current power grab that is going on, and she was adamant that it would never succeed (which is where I get my eternal optimism from). I asked her why wouldn`t it succeed, to which she replied, "well, we can impeach them, I mean come on, they tried to impeach Clinton for a blowjob, you cannot tell me that with all the proof Congress has about Bush, it wouldn`t be a foregone conclusion".

She proceeded to say that, she was bewildered why after lying the country into war, crashing the dollar, letting inflation run rampant and basically destroying everything America stands for, she was amazed that when the Democrats took power in 2004, the first thing they didn`t do was Impeach.I explained that Pelosi had said "impeachment was off the table", to which she responded, "what do you mean impeachment is off the table, that is what it is there for, to protect Americans. That is Pelsi`s job, if she can`t do her job, then she needs to go immediately and let someone who can take over"

This is a non-political, hardworking, honest, middle class American from a Republican family. It made me think, you know she is right. This shouldn`t be a question of whether Impeachment is off the table, this is simple, this is what Impeachment is for, to protect Americans from their government.

Perhaps the time has come to Impeach, immediately and without hesitation, everyone knows Bush needs to go, everyone knows Cheney needs to go, if Pelosi won`t impeach, she is negating her responsibility to the American people.

Bush and Cheney are guilty of high crimes and treason, if Pelosi and Congress refuse to Impeach, then they too are guilty of high crimes and treason.

This isn`t about what is politically expedient, this is about protecting Americans, and judging by my conversation last night, even middle America has had enough.

Impeach or be guilty of conspiring with the Bush junta. No other option.

"What do you mean impeachment is off the table"

Peace
