Poor Duncan Hunter. His presidential campaign isn't doing too well, and apparently he doesn't like paying his property taxes at an appropriate level, either.

As Duncan Hunter pushes ahead with his long-shot bid for the White House, the Alpine congressman remains locked in a lower-profile struggle with the San Diego County assessor's office over the value of the house he is building to replace the one he lost in the 2003 Cedar fire.
Hunter appealed the $315,000 assessment levied against his 2.7-acre property off Vista Viejas Road late last year after the county realized it had undervalued the original house for more than a decade.
The assessed value for the almost-finished home was set at $401,583 last week, nearly doubling Hunter's annual property tax bill.
Later this year the value will climb to between $550,000 and $600,000, according to the assessor's office, once Hunter and his wife, Helynn, move into the 5,265-square-foot home.
