Rasmussen: Hillary up by 18...Edwards pos/neg rating worse than Hillary
Didn't get posted on Friday that I saw...

Hillary 40
Obama 22
Edwards 14

Hillary 52/46 pos/neg rating

Edwards 47/45 pos/neg rating

Edwards is also losing his advantage against Republicans...now trails Guiliani by 7

1. I despise this inevitability. I hate it. It infuriates me to think my vote has no importance.
That the decision is made. Most people don't even know what year the election is, and don't care. But she is the winner already.

2. Sounds more like defensiveness...
I can understand being upset when your candidate is clearly not the choice at this point...but I didn't make this up

3. You don't have a clue at the anger your constant posting of polls...
generates. It is like a slap in the face to anyone else who thinks we should have a choice.

I am not that passionate about anyone right now, though hubby and I lean toward Edwards.

In fact, since the decision is made we just may not vote at all........

4. Defensiveness...
Posting political news on a board dedicated to politics is hardly a slap in the face...

6. Overkill.
Total complete overkill.

Designed for inevitability. Could be the worst decision made by her campaign and her supporters.

People don't like it.

You're saying you don't like it when one poster repeatedly posts positive news about one particular politician?

Well, at least SaveElmer hasn't been doing it for 4 years.

15. So you are saying all these polling firms are conducting polls...
At the behest of the Clinton campaign?

Now that is funny. Sorry if the news is not to your liking, but it is news...agains, I did not make it up

7. So SaveElmer should not post because his candidate is doing well.
I wish I would take the time to go back and search the 2004 Democratic primary season, but at this point it just isn't worth it.

"In fact, since the decision is made we just may not vote at all" Yea that will teach Democracy! I usually get insight from your posts, at least enough for something to think about. But this post is just bouncing off the walls.

17. You didn't make this up, either.
At the same time, it is hard to imagine anything in the debates having a significant impact on perceptions of Clinton. She has been in the political spotlight at the national level for 15 years and people have strong opinions about her. No matter how we ask about her, opinions are fixed. In recent months, the number who would definitely vote for her in a general election has stayed between 28% and 30%. The number who would definitely vote against has stayed between 46% and 48%. Her favorables have been roughly equally divided between positive and negative assessments all year. But, she is very popular among Democrats (currently, 84% of Democrats have a favorable opinion of the former First Lady).

Why would we want to nominate someone whom the Republicans feel is their best chance to retain the White House in 2008?

Why, indeed!

20. the conclusion you drew was not even hinted at in the excerpt you posted
And as an indicator of how these debates may or may not influence public perception, John Edwards no has a higher pos/neg rating than Clinton. And, as indicated in other polls as well, Obama's negs are rising.

26. The media relentlessly pushes Hillary as the
frontrunner, and the polls reflect it.

The rightwing slime machine has turned John Edwards into its favorite whipping boy, and the polls reflect that, too.

The r's and their media sycophants are doing everthing in their power to get Hillary nominated. All so they can destroy her with a fury and vengeance unprecedented in American politics. Not saying she can't - or won't - withstand the onslaught, but I suspect it's going to be very ugly and very brutal.
