Regardless of Sheehans actual agenda in challenging Pelosi and Conyers direclty, I can't help thinking that its not a horrible thing.
Before I am incinerated into oblivion, let me explain :) and maybe you can tell me where my logic is failing....
Let me preface this by saying that I DO NOT think that Conyers or Pelosi are in any way threatened by Cindy's actions. If I felt that she was actually damaging Conyers, I would feel differently. I adore Conyers.
Anyway...
Cindy gets press. Cindy is not "part" of the establishment. So her press coverage isn't just another Repub/Dem disagreement blip as it hits the news. Its a mom speaking out. Which gets extra coverage because of her circumstances. Which I think is a good thing because it puts a face on what is happening and exposes the issues to people who would zone out if it were just another difference of opinion between politicos.
For me, politics in our country is theater....there are plays within plays, and someone like Cindy who speaks out serves as a catalyst, educating people who might not ever have paid attention...
So, I'm having trouble seeing how her actions at Conyers office today are hurting anything? Did she say something that I missed?
BTW - I do get the "biting the hand that feeds you" sentiment in regards to marching on Conyers office, I'm just not clear on how that is hurtful, (for lack of a better word) to someone as strong as Conyers.
What am I missing?
