RW Propaganda
I need to refute the following information, but do not have the figures. Anyone know? There may be a touch of truth in the numbers, but I'm sure the figures are MUCH larger for the Repugs. Anyway, this is what they are passing around:

How Enron Worked the President!
(This is an interesting bit of information that you don't hear much about.)
1. Enron's chairman did meet with the president and the vice president in the Oval Office.
2. Enron gave $420,000 to the president's party over three years.
3. It donated $100,000 to the president's inauguration festivities.
4. The Enron chairman stayed at the White House 11 times.
5. The corporation had access to the administration at its highest level and even enlisted the Commerce and State Departments to grease deals for it.
6. The taxpayer-supported Export-Import Bank subsidized Enron for more than $600 million in just one transaction.
Scandalous!!

(Look below ...... )

BUT...the president under whom all this happened WASN'T George W. Bush.

SURPRISE It was President Bill Clinton !
Pass this on so the whole Country will know. The Media Won't!
ARE WE READY FOR MRS. CLINTON?

2. Snopes has it all ready for you.
Here ya go: http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/enron.asp

In times like these you should also consider the DU propaganda debunking group.

6. Thanks!
I didn't even think of Snopes and will look into the other site, too! I don't venture very far in DU, although I should explore more.

I knew it had to be one of the Sheeples' jewels, and the person who sent it to me was also frustrated by their passing inaccurate information. I guess we just need to shoot the truth back at them enough times they finally quit believing in that garbage.

I can't get over their extreme hatred for the Clintons.

9. Copying and pasting Snopes articles
Snopes has copying blocked at their website but there will be times when you want to paste portions of their articles onto an email reply. To defeat this blocking you can print to file. I print to Microsoft XPS Document Writer but I'm sure you can achieve the same thing by printing to other types of files such as Microsoft Word.

Happy debunking! :hi:

7. Thanks!
I wasn't aware that was even available. That site should speed things up, as I'm sure these items will be appearing more frequently, the closer we get to the primaries.

8. Bush's Biggest Donors Had Links to Enron
February 15, 2002

Enron contributed $736,800 to George W. Bush over the past eight years, his single largest contributor. Many are looking for a smoking gun that will link Enron, directly, to specific favors. They want to see what specific decisions Enron bought. It is possible that such decisions will be uncovered, the evidence supplied.
