Recommending again that we must fall for the tough on National Security stuff. And from what I am reading it is not just the New Dems but the Blue Dogs who are going along with giving Bush money to expand his war to Iran.
They do not stand up and say Bush is lying, and they will not confront him. They are going to go right along with Bush on attacking Iran.
From the DLC's Ideas Primary website, another article about how we must prove ourselves on National Security. Not a word about telling people we got lied to war and that we are losing. Have lost. Just give in. Let Bush paint us into the corner again.
If they keep this stuff up we are going to lose again. No one wants to tell the truth, they just want to react to Bush's terror machine.
Security: The Key To Democratic VictoryEvery presidential election cycle, our candidates and punditry boast about our double-digit polling advantage on health care, creating and keeping good jobs in our country, Social Security, education, the environment and a host of other domestic issues - advantages that actually increase significantly when we add the words “for working people like you” after each of those issues.
We structure our messaging and campaigns on that supposed competitive advantage. And, unfortunately, the first Wednesday in November, we lick our wounds and end up asking: “What happened?”
The answer is simple. As important as economic and social issues are, and as much as the electorate trust Democrats to be on their side on those issues, the voters in that sliver in the middle - the ones who have been deciding national elections - are concerned about their security first.
No, that is not true. Harold Schaitberger is wrong. People are tired of this war, of the killing, of the dying, and they are sick of Bush's rhetoric.
What is with these Democrats who can't see what they are doing to the party? They are sounding just like George Bush.
Domestically, we must champion law and order policies that secure our borders and protect our cities and towns. We must be tough on crime and demand that resources are allocated to keep our communities safe. Democrats must assure voters that the federal government will finally have the funds needed to respond swiftly and effectively to man-made and natural disasters.
Until Democratic candidates break through the security barrier, the other issues won’t matter. And as it relates to who will occupy the White House the first Wednesday in November will continue to be a very sad day.
Tired of this tough stuff. Democrats won't "break though the security barrier" until they tell the truth about Bush' lies.
Here we go again...fear and terror from the Democrats. How about stop playing to the "sliver in the middle" and play to your base?
