MSNBC's Craig Crawford: " Edwards Leads with 9/11 Specifics"
The MSM is noticing !

Trail Mix: By Craig Crawford | 11:30 AM; Sep. 07, 2007 |

Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards gets the jump today for next week’s remembrances of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. While his rivals in both parties will undoubtedly try to grab headlines with 9/11-related events, the former North Carolina senator and 2004 Democratic vice presidential nominee is in Manhattan today giving this round’s first — and possibly most substantive — speech on the topic.

Advance text released by the Edwards camp shows him proposing what amounts to a NATO-like approach to terrorism, with what he would call the Counterterrorism and Intelligence Treaty Organization (CITO). Edwards will say, "New connections between previously separate nations will be forged, creating new possibilities."

Give Edwards credit for being the most specific candidate of either party on many issues, from expanding health insurance to aiding the poor. And as the inevitable parade of White House contenders line up with 9/11 rhetoric, chances are that only Edwards will have come up with a detailed agenda.

Contributing Editor Craig Crawford is a news analyst for NBC, MSNBC and CNBC.

1. The speech is long, rich in substance and complexity and absolutely brilliant.
It is posted on the videos. Unfortunately, two other speakers make long introductions. The introductions are also very good, but the YouTube video is over a half an hour I believe. I recommend watching it when you have time.

2. Ah, keyword, substance....
Have always admired that in Edwards, from his 2004 run and his book Four Trials.

Have seen the vid, it's been all over MSM :toast:

3. Edwards has innovative impressive ideas - He is outdoing DK in many areas - I hope the others
adopt his ideas as their own and do not allow their campaign managers convince them that they can not support ideas they did not invent.

5. Another DU'er PM'ed Me, But I Get His Daily Updates And After I
read it here, I saw that it had been sent to me! GREAT SPEECH and even if it was long it was FULL of information and intelligent thinking with a lot of specifics. He impresses me more all the time. Actually I think it was the BEST I've heard from him yet!!

A real keeper, and I am going to save it for sure! More and more people seem to be looking his way, and he seems to be getting a lot more attention for what he is proposing as opposed to what many here want to talk about. Like Hair and Houses!!
