For Kucinich Fans: I am black and blue from kicking myself.....
I got so involved yesterday in listening to the wonderful Pavaratti and Potts tapes that other DU'ers so generously provided, plus checking out Tiger's start time and calls from the sons, I did miss the demonstration and from what I hear "fabulous talk by Dennis Kucinich" at the Kravis Center. My female friends and I happen to go to the same Catholic Church in downtown West Palm (St. Ann's) and we commiserate after Mass about various things. "Where the hell were you?" one yells (out of earshot of the priest standing right there)"you missed the best talk ever" stated another, and so on and on. I was really starving at this point and suggested we go for coffee/breakfast, whatever. No one said anything at that point so I said the magic words: "I'll buy." Hey, you have to get your info and if you're stupid enough to miss this great opportunity, you deserve to pay.

Anyhoo, let me preface with we're all retired professionals with our likes and dislikes about all of the candidates. We're all in Florida from Jersey, Philly and New Yawk (she's the one that yelled "where the hell were you?" in front of the priest...lol, just love that gal). We are not really committed to anyone at this point, open eyes and ears, listen to everyone.

They were blown away by Dennis. They said he was charming, witty, smart and angry with themselves because he had always been under our radar, which he has. So now Dennis has caused what you might call a "conundrum." They love him too, it needs to be the "top four." What to do, what to do? Our consensus was: Whoever gets to be the President (of that we have now doubt it will be a Dem), Dennis needs to be a highly visible and intricate part of the Cabinet.

I wasn't there, I apologize to have lost such a great opportunity and am very angry with myself. My only satisfaction will come if Tiger wins this tournament, and the one son sends me a check next week as payment on the money he owes me. I am open for all news of Dennis Kucinich, I trust my friends, according to them they are never wrong about these things, and he is one to watch.

4. when ordinary people across the spectrum actually have a chance to listen to Dennis,
They discover very quickly

that he is saying out loud what they believe inside.

And he is doing it better than any other candidate by far:

Congressman Dennis Kucinich on the Issues:

5. I'm sorry you missed him.
When people get to meet him, get to really hear him, they usually respond just the way your friends did.

I think you'll find it worth your time to keep him "on" your radar!

:hi:

7. Dennis Kucinich is the only real democrat running
Let's go down the list.
Gravel: need to focus his message he is also another battled tested true Democrat.

Below this line nobody really knows 100% of what they are going to get. In my opinion a Democrat out of convenience,
?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Hillary: Has to explain her voting record and was on the board of directors of Wal-Mart has agreed already to keep bush's fraudulent policy about Iran should have filibustered Roberson and alito.

Obama: has agreed already to keep bush's fraudulent policy about Iran should have filibustered Roberson and alito.

Bidden: Sold everyone out on the bankruptcy bill should have filibustered Roberson and alito.has agreed already to keep bush's fraudulent policy about Iran

Dodd: should have filibustered Roberson and alito. not sure if he has agreed already to keep bush's fraudulent policy about Iran

Edwards: Trying to win the middle ground and the fun-dies has agreed already to keep bush's fraudulent policy about Iran

Bill Richardson: A clinton republican has agreed already to keep bush's fraudulent policy about Iran

8. All good points.

You simply point out that this election is not really about who would be the best president. It's about the evolution and identity of the Democratic Party.

The Party would like to pretend that they still work for the core values that bring them support from various voting blocks that were formerly "the base." They move forward with no intention of actually serving those voters, yet still expect that they will get the votes, because "what other choice is there?"

I see this election as a chance for voters to choose the direction of the party. If the majority choose to continue the march to the right, I will be gone.

13. I agree!
The show is excellent. He doesn't come across like a limousine liberal (as Republicans sometimes try to characterize some of our other talkers) and if there was ever someone to win over the person on the street - it's him. He does a damn good job.

20. I confess I haven't listened to him recently.
I turned him off in disgust some months ago, and never turned him back on.

His show was too much football, flyfishing, chest pounding, and pissing contest, and not enough LIBERAL POLITICS for me. And, then there was the fact that he insisted on referring to himself as "Big Eddie". Ugh. He was all DLC talking-points, and his voice sounded (dare I say?) like Rush Limbaugh -- all bluster, bombast, and self-adoration. He was insufferable. I shut him off mid-rant about a column David Sirota had written.

If he's better now, thank goodness. I will listen to hear what Dennis has to say, not what "Big Eddie" has to say.

Thanks for telling me his show has improved.

18. Eddie too is smelling the repuke blood in the waters
He used to be insufferable...

He's getting almost radical lately. When not blowing his own horn about his corporate ambitions, he's tolerable...

Go ahead, give it a try...

11. Welcome to the club!
He is definitely one to watch...

I plan to vote for him in the primary...

We've already sent money...

I was lucky enough to hear him speak at a private garden party recently, and even though I already liked him...

That cinched it!

Charming, witty and smart are indeed very appropriate!

People keep saying he can't win...

Hell, if he gets enough votes, he can!

14. Monmouth - I noticed in the San Francisco Chronicle that their
Question yesterday for the guy/gal on the street related to "Who will sserve the interests of women in our society best as our next President?"

And one of the SIX people chosen answers, "It's not about who serves women best - it's about who will serve HUMANITY and women best - and that is Kucinich by a mile." (I am paparphrasing a little)

And the person was herself a woman.

It made me really feel good.
