In May, Bush and the GOP started selling a three-photo collection of Bush's first year in office, which included a photo of "a telephone call from Air Force One to Vice President Cheney the afternoon of September 11."

As Al Gore said in a statement about the photos, "While most pictures are worth a thousand words, a photo that seeks to capitalize on one of the most tragic moments in our nation's history is worth only one - disgraceful. I cannot imagine that the families of those who lost their lives on September 11th condone this - and neither should the President of the United States."

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The White House approves of the Republican congressional campaign committee's plan to use a photograph of President Bush taken on September 11 as part of a GOP fundraising effort, a move Democrats call "nothing short of grotesque."

The White House photograph shows Bush aboard Air Force One, talking to Vice President Dick Cheney hours after the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee and the National Republican Congressional Committee are offering the picture, along with photos of the president during his State of the Union address and at his inauguration, to donors who contribute at least $150 and attend a fund-raising dinner with Bush and the first lady next month.

Who still SUPPORTS this disgrace?

Think about that statement. Look at it again.

Isn't that the strangest thing you have ever read? Who would take credit for that? The fact that it is the best thing that ever happened to him (ever) is one side of it but he (meaning: they) take credit for it. It is their trump card or at least it was.

I think that 10 years from now all the footage of Bush and Cheney in a recap of 9/11 will be in black and white with ominous heavy music accompanying it.

. . . a recap of Bewsh's entire PRESIDENCY should be in B/W with ominous atonal music. As ANY montage of constant villainy, rights-revoking and treasury theft should be.

Kind of surprised he didn't try that sh*t with Katrina....

. . . er .. . that is, if you're not a passenger on a plane packed with terrorists who somehow got left off the FBI's watch list, that is.
