Obama Not Peaked!!!
Okay, judging from the tsunami of email I received in response to the question I posed yesterday afternoon about whether Barack Obama has peaked or not, it appears there is a rather serious disconnect between the beltway liberal elite and the American public. Big shock, I know.

By a ratio of probably 20 to 1 (or more) people think Michael Crowley and his DC cocktail circuit buddies have lost their minds - to put it mildly. Indeed, the mere posing of the question seemed to ignite a passion among Obama supporters that gave me flashbacks to the last time I wrote something derogatory about Ron Paul.

In general, those saying Obama has NOT PEAKED!!! point out they believe his grassroots strength is being vastly understated by the polls and the MSM. Many cited the size of Obama's crowds around the country and his fundraising numbers as proof, and more than a few people predicted he would spank Hillary (metaphorically, speaking, of course) again this quarter.

At least half took issue with my description of Hillary Clinton having run a "near flawless campaign," pointing out that her current woes with Mr. Hsu only highlight the fact that she's is an inherently flawed candidate that is propped up by being a favorite of the establishment and, again, the MSM. Many said that despite her lead in the polls they could find few people willing to support her in the "real world" (other than Republicans who think she's an easy target, that is) and feel that she is the one Democrat who could "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory" next year.

And at least a dozen or more said the question people should be asking is not whether Obama has peaked but whether Hillary has. So I guess I'll do the honors: has Hillary Clinton's campaign peaked? Email your thoughts here.

2. Obama, are you kidding!? the man has barely just begun... his speeches clearly display
his natural leadership abilities, they're still talking about his remarks over going into pakistan to hunt down al qaeda if need be!

3. I just came from an Obama Town Hall meeting
And there was quite a crowd, probably around 500-600 or so. It certainly didn't appear that he's peaked.

6. Very interested
I wish we'd get some more of these. I think they tell more about a candidate than speeches. How'd he do? Did he get any surprise questions? Stumped on anything? What did people say afterwards?

8. Yeah, but the author of this piece is a right-winger and was trying to downplay Obama's chances
for obvious reasons. He's scared of Obama.

7. It's a different group of people
Not the typical partisan voter that I think they're polling. I don't know what the registration numbers are, but that's where to find Obama supporters. Not just young people, new people who haven't participated in primaries before.

13. I've been trying to square
The massive crowds he's pulling, the strong endorsements, and the undoubtedly first class GOTV infrastructure he can build with his fund raising vs. his seemingly entrenched second place.

My guess is people are going to be shocked when he walks away with Iowa.

He's clearly growing, getting better known, and will gain supporters as time goes on! :hi:

16. More like a month ago
From the polls that I've been tracking, Obama has been trending downward in the past month.

...never mind about even thinking about him reaching a peak.
