GOP Desperate to Find Silver Lining in Health Care Polls

Senate Republicans received a briefing yesterday on new polls and focus groups of �swing voters� about health care and the expansion of the State Children�s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).

Afterward, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) told CongressDaily (subscription only):

� he briefing was encouraging because it showed that from a policy perspective, swing voters are aligned with Senate Republicans.�

�They�re not crazy about SCHIP expansion. They think it�s a really bad idea.�

Despite what the GOP would like to think, public opinion is firmly behind expanding health care coverage to millions of children.
