Why are we afraid of him? What do we have to lose if he vetoes a popular bill? And the Repubs are forced to go on record supporting his veto? Isn't that going to help us in 2008? What am I missing here?

1. Because the Senate Republicans will stand in the way....
At least that's the conventional wisdom... But the Dems should be able to get more votes by forcing Republican Senators running for re-election to vote on Children's Health Care... Believe me, they would do it to our guys in a New York Minute...

2. LEt them. That is the point. Make the rePIGlickers go on the record opposing popular laws and
and policies. The Democratic leadership should push for impeachment. After the hearings and votes we will know who is on our side,

5. That's a good question.
More people should be asking themselves these types of questions.

6. Because the legislators want to provide insurance to kids who need it
not issues to bash Republicans with. Sometimes people and their needs are more important.
