2. Agreed. Prolonging Iraq and forcing us to accept for-profit Healthcare

I think she'll get both done in the first 100 days, then move on to increasing outsourcing.

4. I believe what she says and what she will actually do are 2 different things.
Edited on Thu Sep-20-07 07:05 PM by blm
I believe her immediate priority will be to protect the secrecy and privilege of the outgoing Bush the same way Bill did for Poppy Bush.

No accountability.

Bill didn't think accountability was as important as others did and even said so in his book.

How did that work out for this nation?

After all, once she has what she wants, why not forgive and forget?

9. Getting re-elected
Her secondary goal would be preserving her legacy.
My guess is that the first thing she'd do was to undue some of the damage that Bush did. After that, she probably will try to take things easy and maybe push forward with some bigger initiatives if she had strong support in Congress

10. Don't know what comes up first
but anything she does would be better than a top priority of Obama's.

13. Obama protects secrecy and privilege of the Bushes? I didn't know that.
That's the worst thing I can think will happen - but I didn't know it was an Obama presidency that will perform that task.

On the other hand....history has shown:

20. Well, how's she going to do that?
That's what I'm asking. Is she going press for and sign the Employee Free Choice Act (as she has promised to do) immediately, or will she leave it to struggle on its own while her attention is elsewhere?

Timing has so much to do with the success of legislation. The things that go first have the highest likelihood of success. So they will the ones she cares about the most. What are those things?

22. We could probably count on her at least one major legislative push
and health care would be the logical place to begin, since she will probably feel the need to wipe out that stain on her resume. If she manages any success in that area, she can backfill with other progressive items, but, overall, caution and centrism will be the rule, IMO.
