Poll question: Newt's Nectar
It's conceivable that he could raise the bucks he says he wants to run for the presidency, but it's less convincing that he can register emotionally with voters.

Who would want to have a beer with Newt Gingrich? He probably doesn't even drink beer. He probably insists on hummingbird nectar.

QUESTION:

Anybody want to have a glass of hummingbird nectar with Newt Gingrich?

1. I was suckered by him once

I made a trip to georgia a few years back,at xmas time. I have good friends in atlanta.
I HAD SEEN THAT BIT ON TV ABOUT HOW HE DOES SO MUCH FOR THE ATLANTA ZOO. well like newt
its all b.s.
THE TIME FRAME WAS DURING THE GOVT SHUT DOWN-UALL MEMBER THAT!
While at the zoo I met one of the upper tier leaders. I SAID WHAT do you think the chances of seeing newt here. He laughed and said "do you see any news cameras?"
Being from "maine" I said "huh" you mean its all public relations.
I went to an air force museum and talked to a couple locals. they said he would not get re-elected."THEY WERE RIGHT" FACT IS MOST LOCALS HATED HIM!
Then that bit about "clinton" when he was doing worse.
THATS THE DAY I LEFT THE RIGHT WING REPUBLICAN PARTY!
FOR IT SEEMS THEIR ARE MANY WHO TALK THE TALK;BUT FEW THAT WALK THE WALK!

2. I'm glad you fled the containment camp and I extend a belated welcome
to blue pastures.

Welcome aboard.

Newt strikes me as a bit overly fussy for a public figure, especially a political figure.

Ambition for the White House drips off him like grease but I'm not seeing him appealing to the GOP base in the rural west, in the midwestern farm country, or the northeast. Democrats appear to have the upper hand in the states and regions Kerry-Edwards carried in 04, with pickups in Ohio and New Mexico, and likely Iowa.

Newt's got a little starpower but IMO not much national currency. I think he may strike too many voters as being aloof from the difficulties they face as ordinary, day-to-day citizens, and that they'll reject him on that basis, feeling if he doesn't understand their plight he can't be part of the solution.

3. Yup I'll chug that nectar with Newt. It'd give me a chance to tell him what a dip shit he is.
Wouldn't vote for him though even if he's buying.

4. A perfect strategy. You chug, he pays, and your vote's unfettered.
Bravo.

5. Newt admits he is dreaming of pulling a Sarcozy(France)and
having a 90 minute SIT Down Debate with Hilary.

He believes he could make S. Royale out of Hilary.

I say : Be careful of what you wish for, Newt.

6. Yes. I doubt if he's listening to the good advice you're offering him,
but he'd do well to.

Senator Clinton is going to make this a very thorough effort. If she holds her lead and wins our nomination in Denver, she is not going into any summer and fall 08 campaign unprepared.

I really don't think a Gingrich nomination by the GOP represents a serious threat to an electoral victory for Hillary Clinton.

And in the debates I think she whomps him in the early going and he stays whomped.
