For Edwards, it's basically Iowa or bust
He probably should pull all his money out of NH and go 100% into Iowa. If he can't win Iowa after essentially campaigning for 4+ years there and with his decision to accept public financing, he's finished.

He doesn't have the bankroll Clinton or Obama do to fight till Feb. 5th's national primary.

1. I would agree with your OP.
I hope he starts investing a lot more time, organization, and resources into Iowa. Iowa is the only way, in my opinion, Senator Edwards can take this election. I know that's a bold prediction, but I think it's one shared by most political experts and the Edwards campaign itself.

Edwards is a great candidate, and he's got good organization in Iowa. Iowans love personal politics, where they feel the candidate out, and Edwards is best when it comes to that very personal contact between him and the crowds. I've noticed on his YouTube, the clips he speaks the best and shows the most passion is with crowds between 100-1,000 people and not necessarily the big crowds.

2. I would have to agree...
and i think the Edwards would agree too...their strategy has always been win in Iowa as a springboard into NH, then the turn south into friendlier/familiar territory and west...get the union support in NV etc. then win big with all the media attention on SUPER DUPER primary day.

without a win or a very close second i think it the choices in the Edwards camp get a bit more desperate.
