i know he's ahead in both states, his margin in Iowa is better than it is in NH. One more--what if he wins Iowa but loses NH?

Gingrich? He said he wasn't getting in because he can't raise the 30 million
which totally reminded me of Oral Roberts saying that he didn't raise 8 million God was going to call him home.

I've been out of the news loop clearly :hi:

Then yes, um, Romney is a lock at this point. And I'm glad because he is one weak canidate.

8. yup
If a more traditional conservative--i.e, non-Mormon--ran, I'd be concerned, but as it stands Romney has a decent shot of splintering the religious right--and that's a HUGE voting block for the Republican canidate.

3. he has to win South Carolina-- it's an important state for the
Republicans, as usually the other southern states will follow SC's lead.

It'd be tough for him because of his religion, but when the choices are between a Mormon, a pro-choice, pro-gay New York Catholic, and a not militaristic enough Episcopalian who claims to be Baptist, anything might happen.

9. It's a weird year
Any other time I'd say yes, winning IA and NH would seal the deal. But Mitwit is way behind in the national polls. And the other Repugs haven't started bashing him yet. Just wait until the Swiftboating of Mitwit really begins.

10. i agree, this field of gopers imo is pretty weak and i'm sure Romney is hoping
that if he pulls off a win in Iowa that nh will follow but so many of the republicans cancel each other out i'm having a hard time figuring this out.

11. I think Romney's their best bet, especially if he wins IA and NH and
doesn't say anything nearly as stupid as "My sons are serving on the frontlines of Iowa".
